His residency training in radiology was at University of Alabama Hospital. He is a well known and dedicated mesothelioma doctor. Before retiring, his clinical interest was in nuclear medicine and interventional radiology. Dr. Ballard is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Ishwarlal Bhuta, MD, of Montgomery, is a graduate of Mahatma Gandhi School of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a vascular surgery fellowship at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery. He practices at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery and has served on the board of Jackson Ishwarlal Bhuta, MD Hospital for six years. The happiest moments in his career were the times his patients expressed appreciation for the care he provided. He is a member of the Medical Society of Montgomery County and has been a member of MASA since Ralph Raymond Braund Jr., MD, of Muscle Shoals, is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Braund is a pathologist at Shoals Pathology Associates, Inc. He is a member of the Colbert County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since William Allen Bright, MD, of Tuscaloosa, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Before his retirement, he practiced radiology at The Radiology Clinic in Tuscaloosa. He is a member of the Tuscaloosa County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Horace Emerson Buzhardt, MD, of Mobile, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. His residency in obstetrics and gynecology was at the University of South Alabama. Before his retirement he practiced in Mobile. He is a member of the Medical Society of Mobile County and has been a member of MASA since 1972.

2 Clarence Neal Canup, MD, of Fairhope, is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia with a residency and internship in Columbus, Ga. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and 17 years in the U.S. Army Reserves, including active duty during Desert Storm, and retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel in Dr. Canup practiced family medicine in Anniston for 45 years, retiring in He served as State Director of Medical Education for the Alabama Medical Education Consortium (AMEC) and was Tuberculosis Control Officer the Alabama Department of Public Health for District 6. He was a clinical professor in the Department of Family Practice at University of Alabama School of Medicine and assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral and Community Medicine in Tuscaloosa. Clarence Neal Canup, MD Dr. Canup served many years as director of Family Practice Residency at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, and was a regular contributor to the Your Health column in the Anniston Star and editorials in The Alabama Physician. He served on MASA s Board of Censors, and as president of MASA in He also served as president of Alabama Chapter-American Academy of Family Physicians in He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and a member of the Calhoun County Medical Society, American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Association of Hospital Educators and Association of American Medical Colleges. His favorite part of practice was caring for his patients and the association with many residents. He has been a member of MASA since Belle Sumter Miller Carmichael, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of Cornell Medical College. Her residencies were at University of Virginia Medical Center and University of Alabama Hospital. She is author of Heal: A Psychiatrist s Inspiring Story of What it Takes to Recover from Chronic Pain, Depression, and Addiction and What Stands in the Way. She is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Oswald Bernard Carr Jr., MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed residency training in radiology at University of Mississippi Medical Center and an internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Before his retirement, Dr. Carr practiced radiology in Sylacauga. He is a member of the Talladega County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Marion Louis Carroll Jr., MD, of Mobile is a graduate of Meharry Medical College. He completed a residency and internship in Milwaukee, Wis. Before attending medical school, Dr. Carroll served in the U.S. Army in In 1968 he located to Mobile where he practiced internal medicine until his retirement in His proudest moment in practice was diagnosis and successful treatment of hyperparathyroidism with storm and coma. He is a member and former president of the Bay Area Medical Association, and is a member of the National Medical Association, American Medical Association and Medical Society of Mobile County. He has been a member of MASA since 1968.

3 Hanseek Choi, MD, of Tuscaloosa, is a graduate of Seoul National University College of Medicine. He completed residency training at Tampa General Hospital and an internship at Springfield Hospital in Massachusetts. A veteran of the South Korean Army, he practiced neonatology in Tuscaloosa for 35 years and in Birmingham for seven. His happiest moments of practice were successful treatment of pre-term babies with exogenous surfactant. He Hanseek Choi, MD is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Tuscaloosa County Medical Society. He has been a member of MASA since Donald Anthony Deinlein, MD Donald Anthony Deinlein, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed residency training at the University of Alabama and an internship at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He served as a U.S. Navy flight surgeon from and has practiced orthopedic surgery in Birmingham for 40 years. His proudest moments of practice were seeing a patient return to normal activity. In 2005 Dr. Deinlein received the Governor s Recognition award for 30 years of service to Alabama Rehab Scoliosis Clinic. He is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society (committee chair), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (served on the Board of Councellors for six years), North American Spine Society and served as president of the Alabama Orthopedic Society. He is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since James Harold Depoyster, MD, of Decatur, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and specialized in otolaryngology. He is a member of the Morgan County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since William Ernest Dismukes, MD Wilbur Foster Eich III, MD William Ernest Dismukes, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed residency training in infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and in internal medicine at Brigham and Women s Hospital. Before his retirement, he was an infectious diseases specialist at UAB. He is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Wilbur Foster Eich III, MD, of Florence, is a graduate of Tulane School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Naval Regional Medical Center. He served as a clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and practiced pediatrics at Infants and Children s Clinic in Florence prior to his retirement. He is a member of the Lauderdale County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since 1972.

4 Miller Bonner Engelhardt, MD, of Montgomery, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Before his retirement, he was an orthopedic surgeon. He is a member of the University of Alabama College of Arts and Sciences Leadership Board and the Medical Society of Montgomery County. He has been a member of MASA since Raymond Dean Godsil Jr., MD, of Auburn, is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Mayo Clinic-Rochester and an internship at Hennepin County Hospital. He is an orthopedic surgeon at The Orthopaedic Clinic, PC, in Auburn. He is a member of the Lee County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since John Samuel Gould, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Vermont School of Medicine. He completed residency training in orthopedics at University of Pittsburgh and an internship at Boston City Hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy from , including a year in Vietnam. He is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Charles Henry Griffith Jr., MD, of Rainbow City, is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. His completed residency training at University of Kentucky Hospital and an internship at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He is retired from Gadsden Pediatric Clinic. He is a member of the Etowah County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Dan Mayo Guin, MD, of Auburn, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed residency training at University of South Alabama Hospitals and an internship at Mobile General Hospital. He is retired from Family Medicine Associates of East Alabama in Opelika. 5 Oliver Hunt Harper, MD 50 YEAR CLUB 2014 Oliver Hunt Harper, MD, of Warrior, is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Tennessee Teaching Hospital and Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham and an internship at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He served two years in the U.S. Public Health Service. He has practiced internal medicine in Crestview, Fla.; Kediri, Javatimus, Indonesia; and Warrior. His favorite part of practice was interacting with his patients and that his three children all served in missions. His awards include Intern of the Year in 1965 and was honored by the Foreign Mission Board in In addition, his home town of Port St. Joe, Fla., he named Dr. Harper to their Hall of Fame. He is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Benjamin Franklin Hatchett Jr., MD, of Florence, is a graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at University Medical Center of New Orleans and University of Alabama Hospital. He practiced orthopedic surgery at North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic. He is a member of the Lauderdale County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since George McDonald Jervey, MD, of Repton, is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine. He completed residency training at Naval Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa., and an internship at Naval Hospital Pensacola. He is retired from Montgomery Imaging Center. He is a retired surgeon and practiced at McClellan Park Medical Mall. He also served as senior partner of Northeast Alabama Surgical Associates. He has been a member of MASA since Marcus Sexton Lawrence, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of Bowman Gray School of Medicine. 6 William Aull Leitner, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed residency training and an internship at Duke University Medical Center. Before entering medical school, he served in the U.S. Army from Dr. Leitner practiced urology in Macon, Ga, for three years before locating to Birmingham where he practiced until his retirement in In 2010 he was awarded the Alfred Habeeb Distinguished Physician at St. Vincent s Hospital. His favorite part of practice was seeing his patients William Aull Leitner, MD benefit from his treatment. He is a member and former president MASA and the Jefferson County Medical Society. He also served MASA as an AMA delegate, board member, and ALAPAC board member and chairman. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and is a former president of the Medical Alumni Association of UAB. He has been a member of MASA since James Douglas Lindsey, MD, of Birmingham, is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and has been a member of MASA since Ian Grant Malcolm, MD, of Fayette, is a graduate of the Otago School of Medical Sciences. He completed residency training at Auckland City Hospital and an internship at Palmerston North Hospital, both in New Zealand. Dr. Malcolm practices diagnostic radiology at Healthsouth Medical Center.
