1 Tin Lizzie Gazette Four Seasons Model T Association June, 2015 Volume XI, Issue VI Presidents Note We are off to a great T season with our first tour a trip to Johnsonville (aka a ghost town). It was a great ride (over 50 miles) and the weather could not have been better. The town truly lives up to its nickname and I understand it is still for sale. Anyone interested? After checking out the town everyone relaxed with picnic lunches and then headed for home. Great way to start summer! Thanks Marty! Since our touring season has now begun, I would be remiss if I didn t repeat 3 caravanning practices which help reduce stress and increase safety. (1) Perhaps one of the most universal concerns we have while following each other, especially in unfamiliar territory, is getting separated from the pack. Uncooperative traffic lights, cars cutting in or even the occasional breakdown will cause a gap in our parade. Please remember, when caravanning it s your responsibility to keep an eye on the car behind you. If it lags, you slow down. If they have dropped out of sight you stop and/or even circle back to offer assistance. If everyone follows this simple practice of keeping a watchful eye on the car behind, no one will ever get lost or stranded. It is a simple chain reaction that quickly reaches the lead car. (2) Don t be reluctant to let one of those fast modern cars pass you. We ve all experienced impatient drivers who try and squeeze by unsafely, putting all at risk. If we are practicing this courtesy, we will be a little safer. Just pull over where it is convenient and let them fly by. (3) Make sure you travel with your mobile phone and Annual Membership Roster which contains cell numbers. It might just come in handy. Happy and Safe Motoring Pete 1

June 19, engine in Bob Geer's Model T Touring built. serial # 827,532 June 17, engine in Bill Lillies Model T C-cab built. serial # 5,067,739 June 14, engine serial # 2,000,000 built MARTY"S JOHNSONVILLE TOUR We left Lebanon at 9:30am from the Public Parking Lot on the Green with 5 Model T's, 1 Model A & a '52 Ford Pickup. Took mostly back roads to Moodus & stopped for coffee after which we went to Johnsonville. We walked the grounds looking at the old buildings as well as the mill pond & dam. They say this place is haunted, there were lights on in a couple of the buildings & you could hear music playing as well. So maybe it is??????? Then we headed up to the Comstock Covered Bridge where we had lunch. A special Thanks to Andre' for the watermelon.. After checking out the covered bridge we followed the salmon river back to Colchester then the back roads to Lebanon. We returned at 2:30pm. It was a 53 mile round-trip. A few people couldn't make it this time, so we'll do it again in the fall if there s enuf interest. 3
