When the King is Undeveloped The king becomes a tyrant. The king becomes an abdicator. Questions: When you hear the words there is a king in you, how does it make you feel? Does it make you feel stronger or does it make you feel pressure? In what ways do people discourage the king in men and boys from taking the throne? 2. The Warrior Face A. Proverbs 24:10 If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength! 1 Corinthians 9:25-27 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. E. When the Warrior is Undeveloped The warrior becomes cowardly and retreats from necessary battles. The warrior becomes a brute and fights at the wrong time. Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 1 Peter 3:7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. Proverbs 27:5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. 6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. E. When the Friend Face is Undeveloped The friend isolates. The friend smothers. Small Group Questions 1. Of the four faces of manhood which one do you express most naturally and most often? Share a few ways you do this. 2.
