Narratives Security Posts Any High School Security Plan Security Posts The interior of the POD site requires 10 security personnel per 12 hour shift. Two officers will be assigned to the public entrance at the North hallway. Four officers will be assigned to the commons area (POD dispensing stations). One officer will be assigned to the exit point, which serves as the staff entrance. Two officers will serve as rovers. The loading dock for receiving supplies is located at the staff entrance. In the event that safety becomes an issue for the POD workers, a rally point has been identified at the middle school. Secured access to the middle school will be available 24/7.
Narratives Communications Plan ABC High School Security Communications Plan Each security lead shall have a County 800 Mhz handheld radio assigned to them. Specific channels shall be determined prior to the POD site becoming operational. There are 18 UHF handheld radios owned by the school district that will be available for use by the security staff. There is a repeater onsite that will allow communication between all designated interior and exterior security personnel.
How involved does a POD security plan need to be?? OR
Review and Refine The Plan Plans should be reviewed and refined (if needed) annually.
Exercise The Plan Plans Must Be Exercised!!!
Perceived Difficulties Events are not static like a written plan. We do not have the manpower to provide the number of officers required. I (High Ranking LEO) do not have the time to attend various meetings or exercises, or to write these plans.
The Nuts and Bolts of Law Enforcement Involvement in the SNS Building relationships and being part of the planning process. Providing a comprehensive site specific security plan for SNS PODs.
Final Thoughts The SNS Coordinator needs the help of Law Enforcement.
Final Thoughts In the event of national emergency (terrorist event or natural disaster) the Strategic National Stockpile will likely be deployed. SNS is coming!!!
Final Thoughts This page left intentionally blank so I could make an even 50 slides.
