See the Terms of Use for more information. Topic#: C reated: August 2009 Introduction The default browsing of an EAM/CMMS system is a flat view. This Tech Note describes how to enable CBM Solution 2.0 in order to make it easier to map Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) assets/locations to Wonderware tags and automation objects. 2 You can configure the hierarchical view during initial CBM Solution 2.0 configuration. Application Versions Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Solution 2.0 Wonderware Historians 8.x, 9.x System Platform 2.x, 3.x All currently supported Mtelligence EAM System Adapters Procedure When configuring CBM Solution 2.0, one of the first steps you take is to create a mapped relationship between EAM/CMMS system assets / locations and their corresponding tags in your Historian or your System Platform. You can also map to other tag data sources. This information lists a series of tasks that allows you to successfully switch on EAM system hierarchical browsing: 1. Install CBM Solution 2.0 and accompanying EAM Adapters as normal. 2. Ensure you have successfully connected to your target EAM system and created an EAM Data Source for that system, by following instructions in CBM Solution 2.0 User Guide. 3. Ensure you have successfully connected to your target System Platform system and created a Tag Data Source for the system, by following instructions in CBM Solution 2.0 User Guide. 4. Ensure you have completed all required MIMOSA Universal ID mappings of the desired EAM system Site, Assets, Locations etc, according to the instructions in the CBM Solution 2.0 User Guide. 5. After you finish the MIMOSA Mappings, go to Tag Data Sources under the Setup panel, and click the pre- defined System Platform data source. 6. Click the EAM Object Map button. 7. The EAM Object Map window appears. Note that nodes for your currently mapped EAM System are collapsed by default. In this example, the EAM System name is ACME and hierarchical Galaxy browsing is enabled by default. 2/6

4 FIGURE 3: FLAT OBJECT MAP VIEW The goal is to switch on hierarchical browsing to make the mapping and underlying EAM hierarchy more intuitive. 9. Close EAM Object Map window and navigate to Setup panel. 10. Click MDM Settings. 11. Next to the Physical Asset field that is populated with the Not Executed default message, click the Start button. 12. Depending on the number of mapped EAM objects you mapped in the previous steps, the time it takes to complete this MDM Execution can vary. In general this should take several minutes to complete. 13. Once the MDM Execution is finished, go back to Tag Data Sources under the Setup panel, and select the System Platform tag data source. 14. Click the EAM Object Map button again. 15. Click the Hierarchical Tree button as shown in Figure 4 (below). 4/6

5 FIGURE 4: HIERARCHICAL TREE BUTTON 16. When you expand the nodes in the EAM Objects panel again, hierarchical browsing of EAM system is enabled (Figure 5 below). 5/6
