Mnohaya Lita! Please Note: There will be NO Vespers this coming Saturday, January 13 th. With Great Lent starting this Wednesday for the Western Christians, our Pyrohy group will begin working this week and throughout Lent. Volunteers are need on Thursdays. A slight change in the schedule we will be peeling on Wednesday evenings, at 6:00 p.m. not on Thursday mornings as in the past. Please make this project a part of your weekly schedule, if only for a few hours. Attention Fish Fry Volunteers! Our weekly Fish Fries begin this coming Friday, from 4:30 7:30 p.m. Our parish Fish Fry is one of the best in our area and is becoming very popular. Volunteers are needed. For more information about assisting with this project, please contact Mr. Eugene Boyko, Mrs. Pauline Osad or Mrs. Mary Ann Sklaryk. Please support our Fish Fry and tell your family and friends about it. Please note that the annual parish dues will be raised from $ per adult member to $ as of March 1 st, as was voted on at a past annual meeting.

4 Happy Birthday!! Mnohiya Lita!! to our choir director, Markian Komichak, who will celebrate his birthday on February 9 th. We greet Markian and thank him most sincerely for his love and dedication to our Holy Church. He puts in a tremendous amount of time and energy in preparing and directing both our English and Ukrainian choirs. Our prayers and condolences are offered to the children & family of Myron Trembly, of blessed memory, who entered into eternity on Thursday, January 28 th at the age of 90. Funeral services were held from our church on Saturday, January 30 th. Throughout his life, Myron was active in our St. Vladimir parish, serving on the Board of Trustees for many years, some of them as Board president. He was also a member of the Brotherhood, UOL, 60 + Club and parish choir. May our Lord grant him rest in His Heavenly Kingdom and may his memory be eternal. Vichnaya Pamyat! News from the Parish Library We are grateful to Fr. John for the donation of a beautiful book of Christmas traditions First Star I See Tonight by Orysia Tracz. It is written in English and describes Christmas culture, ritual and customs of Christmas. Fr. John has also donated a DVD entitled Pontifical Divine Liturgy the Ordination of Bishop Bohdan Danylo. The library has recently purchased 4 additional volumes of History of Ukraine-Rus by Mykhailo Hrushevsky. We highly recommend these books for students and anyone interested in the history of Ukraine in the English language. Special thanks to Mrs. Nadia Iwanchuk for her $50.00 donation to the library. St. John Orthodox Christian Academy invites our youth to Celebrate Saint Valentine Children s Day at Buna Vestire Orthodox Church, 3300 Wooster Road in Rocky River on Saturday, February 13 th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be music, crafts and fun for children ages Parents are welcome to drop off their children or remain and talk with other parents. Children may bring a sack lunch to enjoy with their new friends! Little Johnnie s Play Group will also be meeting at the same time, same place. This concert will benefit the Alzheimer s Association as well as the St. Panteleimon Ministry.
