2 Problem Empirical evidence shows that every third tail lift faces signifigant wear or mechanical failure during the first three years of operation.

3 Why? Because regular lubrication is not done Tail lift manufacturer instructs to lubricate joints and pins every 2-3 weeks. Lubrication is done by pressing grease manually into the nips. However, this is hardly ever done or at best infrequently. Typical lubrication intervall is 6 to 12 months i.e when the truck goes through scheduled service. Lack of lubrication dries the joints which in turn causes wear and eventually break-down.

4 Consequences The consequences are expensive ü Tail lift damage or breakdown causes both repair costs and loss of revenue to the fleet owner due to downtime days. ü At worst the damaged tail lift cannot be used any longer. ü Worn tail lift joints and pins are a serious safety issue. 8 Technical details Lubrication tank and lubrication pump unit all in one. You can operate the system in heavy use half a year without refill. Lubricant is transferred from tank to pump unit. All lubrication hoses are carefully installed to avoid abrasion in use. Each pump unit and nip is closed circuit, hence each joint s lubrication can be adjusted or closed individually. The hoses are protected with sheating in order to prevent wear and tear. Especially when tail-lift is lowered to the ground. Connection to the tail lift s cylinders s pressure liner These high quality maintenance free hoses whitstand pressure up to 300 bar.
