49 Alumina A high purity alumina mix, it has good resistance to both acidic and basic slags. It is the workhorse for a wide range of alloys and melting applications; commonly used for air melting furnaces but can also be used in a vacuum melting application. Maximum service temperature 1800.

50 Chrome Alumina The small addition of chrome in the alumina improves the resistance to slag attack and greatly improves the longevity of refractory life. Ideal for air melting applications, but not recommended for vacuum melting applications. Maximum service temperature 1800 C.

51 Magnesia Stabilised Zirconia Stabilised with magnesia to prevent volume changes, it has an excellent resistance to acidic slags. It is unaffected by Ni, Mo, Al, Fe, Pb and has good resistance to Zr and Be. Widely used in vacuum melting applications for the melting of superalloys, this material exhibits superior resistance to thermal shock and erosion. It has low thermal expansion properties. Maximum service temperature 1900 C.

52 Lime Stabilised Zirconia Stabilised with lime to prevent volume changes, ideal for high temperature applications and for use with platinum group metals. Our lime stabilised zirconia products are specially designed to counteract the glassy or siliceous slags produced when melting platinum alloys. It has excellent thermal shock properties and displays a superior resistance to spalling and erosion. Maximum service temperature 2000 C.

53 Magnesia Has very good resistance to basic slags and is widely used in vacuum melting applications for the melting of superalloys. It is non-wetted by Ni, Co and Fe based alloys. Less dense than zirconia and preferred by some customers for X-ray analysis. Maximum service temperature 1700 C.

54 Mullite This material has excellent thermal shock properties; it has good abrasion and wear resistance with most alloys. It is not recommended for acidic slags and elevated temperatures. An ideal material for furnace bricks, element carriers and parts demanding good hot loading durability. Maximum service temperature 1700 C.

55 Zircon Contains high strength and good resistance to thermal shock properties due to a dense structure and increased silica content, good resistance to acidic slags and is commonly used for non-ferous and precious metal melting applications. Maximum service temperature 1650 C.

56 Silicon Carbide An extremely dense material with superb thermal shock properties. Highly resistant to metal penetration and non-wetted by non-ferrous alloys. The workhorse for non-ferrous metals in air melting applications. Maximum service temperature 1400 C.

57 Fused Silica A light material providing excellent thermal shock properties and extreme volume stability at elevated temperatures. Commonly used for 'one shot liners' with superalloys in a vacuum furnace application. Maximum service temperature 1650 C

58 CERABLANKETS/CERACHEM BLANKETS Furnace, Kiln, Fired Heaters, Hydrogen Reformer linings. Also insulation of Steam and Gas Turbines, investment casting moulds, reusable insulation for field stress relieving, fire protection and acoustic insulation at high temperatures.

59 SABER BLOCS / Z-BLOK MODULES High temperature Furnace, Kiln and Heater linings where modular construction is preferred. Quick installation and easy maintenance are the advantages of using modules.

60 VENEERING MODULES Hot face veneering for existing Furnaces, Kilns and Heaters where the lining is in a reasonably good condition and does not require immediate replacement. Veneering offers reduction in heat loss, leading to fuel savings. Further, the life of refractory lining is extended due to protection offered by ceramic fibre.

61 BOARD & SHAPES Hot face lining in laboratory type and other small Furnaces & Kilns. Hot face linings of LTM kiln cars. Combustion chamber linings. Aluminium handling applications. Back up insulation in glass tanks, aluminium Furnaces and ceramic Kilns. Backup installation in steel ladles.
