4 RED: +12V BLACK: GND WHITE: CAN HIGH YELLOW: CAN LOW BLUE: SELECTOR. CONNECT TO YELLOW (OR WHITE) CABLE ON THE POWER/ IR / BACK CONNECTOR You will find a 12 pin connector behind tha Monitor. From the 12 cables, the WHITE cable is CAN HIGH and the YELLOW cable is CAN LOW. DON T CUT THE CABLES, JUST JOIN THEM. DIP SWITCH SETTINGS It is possible that some units have misprinted signs. 6 -EN CASE OF E60 WITH 8.8 MONITOR, YOU CAN CHANGE MONITOR SIZE WITH THE 4:3 BUTTON -SELECT FUNCTION WITH A/V BUTTON Safety Advices before Installation Caution: Installation requires special knowledge and should be done by trained personnel. Please read these instructions carefully before you start to work. Please work with caution and patience. Use suitable and recommended tools only and handle all parts with special attention. Follow the regulations concerning the vehicle electric system. Remove the ignition key before you start the installation. Take care that no electric consumers are still switched on. Installation may only be done in idle status. Please pay attention to the car manufacturer s requirements. This interface is to be used in cars with 12V negative ground only. 2.- Removal of the Front Monitor NOVOSONIC LA PLANA, S.L IC-9030

7 A) Remove the two screws at the monitor top which fix it to the dashboard. Use a torx screwdriver and work carefully. The screws are marked on the Picture for better orientation. B) At the upper junction between the monitor and the dashboard where you have just removed the screws you can see a small gap. Move a small screwdriver carefully into that junction and the display will drop to you out of its mounting. C) Take the monitor carefully and turn its backside to you. 8 D) Unplug the original BMW connectors. Take the cable supplied with the interface and plug it to the LCD OUT connector in the interface. Plug the other end of the cable to the metal socket of the video connector at the monitor right backside. There is a white spot at the connector head to show in which way it must be connected. This spot must face the opposite side to the small flange on the original connector. F) Make sure all connections are made correctly as they are described here. CAUTION: A proper connection of the interface cables is necessary for the interface to work correctly. Please check original connections. You will see a small flange on one side of the connector. Take the interface cable and check the white spot on the connector. This white spot must always face the opposite side to the flange. Make sure that you are connecting the cables as described here. Wrong installation may cause serious conflicts with the car electric systems.
