3 The Nordic Spirit Orust was once an island of survival against the odds. Nowhere was it tougher to be a fisherman and yet nowhere was it more rewarding. Setting sail on a warm June morning was, and still is, heaven. Fighting to make a safe haven in a full storm late in November must have been closer to hell. When the islanders constructed their boats it was the sea which dictated their design. Listening to the sea was the way they developed their knowledge, and it was at this time that the Nordic Spirit was born.

4 One day, you will have learnt from the many hours at sea, you will have come to rely on your gut feeling. You will know that the need to impress people is juvenile, while cooking and sharing a meal with friends is important. On that day you will feel at home. That day will be a Najad day.

10 Najad 355 Sailing performance beyond what you might expect from a safe and comfortable cruising yacht. So generally, people are surprised when discovering spacious cabins, galley and head with separate shower below deck. Lots of stowage and standing headroom in nearly all areas. The strong well-dimensioned hull is designed to offer first-class sailing without encroaching on interior space or Najad s state of the art safety. The cockpit is perfect for sailing and socializing. Spacious, deep and safe for ease of handling and lines led aft are contained in purpose made bins each side of the wheel, for a tidier and more comfortable cockpit area for room to wine and dine. Below deck you find some refined details such as leather covered grab rails, dimmer switches and self closing galley drawers that makes your life onboard more comfortable. Hand polished mahogany and dark wood joinery have been contrasted together to project warmth and quality in every cabin. 8 Najad 355

13 2 3 1) The hull has strain absorbing stringers, laminated bulkheads and single laminate at mounting places for high stress equipment. The deck is thoroughly laminated to the hull before the interior is built in. Divinycell insulation is used in the deck and hull for strength and stiffness, but also for preservation of temperature and keeping of a dry climate. Good ventilation keeps the environment below enjoyable through the lifetime of your yacht. The windscreen, which makes a sturdy one-piece unit together with the standard sprayhood and cockpit-extension, is protecting you and your crew against the harsh elements. 2) The navigation area below not only gives you room for charts and extra navigation equipment at sea, but also an office place in the harbour. With the navigation area situated directly in front of the bulkhead, the saloon sofa on starboard side can be used as a single berth. 3) The cockpit is well planned in order to obtain an easy handling of sail, rig and navigation for a shorthanded crew. The aft central steering column places the helmsman in total control of the yacht, all hardware and lines in easy reach to make the handling easy. An easy to mount cockpit table converts the cockpit to a fantastic socializing area after work. Najad

Carrying forward the qualities from Najad s most successful recent models, the N410 offers you great comfort and shares the same superb sailing and handling characteristics with sleek lines and excellent ergonomics. Space and comfort are enhanced in The Scandinavian Look, and the Najad 410 is a very rewarding yacht to sail. The internal layout is spacious with superb ergonomics and pure craftsmanship exhibited throughout, with the linear galley and aft double bed offer surprising levels of space and comfort in a yacht this size. 23 ) Behind the wind screen in the spacious cockpit, there is a large chart table area with grab handles and a washboard teak. In this area there is also space for additional instrumentation. All halyards and lines are lead to the cockpit through spinlock clutches to two self-tailing winches. 2) High-gloss varnished chart table and companionway are standard features. 3) The navigation area has space for additional instrumentation and modern equipment on panels above navigation table. 50 Najad 505 This new yacht has been created out of Najad s core principals for quality, performance, safety and good sea-keeping ability. Apart from the centre cockpit layout, there s almost nothing traditional about the entire yacht. In fact, range designers judel/vrolijk & co have made a statement out of every feature. The narrow waterline entry, fairly plumb bow and U-shaped sections aft are a good indicator of the kind of performance you can expect, yet this yacht is primarily designed for cruising couples and offered with a choice of different interior options, centred around the need to accommodate children or occasional guests, as required. Underneath the hull a delta bulb keel will be fitted as standard. The N505 is equipped with a balanced spade rudder, with no skeg, offering a light feeling to the helm, quicker tacking ability and easier close quarters manoeuvrability. 71 The Nord West & Najad ship yard is situated on the northern part of Vindön on the island of Orust. The island has a strong boat building tradition for quality seaworthy craft. The yard produces both powerboats and sailing yachts with a unique spirit marrying modern design and efficiency with classic good looks and high quality. The company is a family owned business with marina and manufacturing facilities on Vindön/Orust and a GRP moulding facility using the latest technology and materials in the neighbour village Lysekil. Since 1971, thousands of Najads have been built that offers a balanced mix of performance, handling, comfort and security at sea. The Najad range today stretches from 35 to 57 feet and includes aft cockpit, centre cockpit and deck saloon. Apart from sailing yachts, the yard has since 1990 manufactured Nord West powerboats. The superb seagoing characteristics, advanced technology and attention to detail have resulted in several international awards throughout the years. The Nord West range today stretches from 37 to 56 feet and includes coupe, flybridge and sport cruisers. The sailing yachts and powerboats have successfully been exported to countries worldwide. The yard has taken pride in always meeting with the end client regardless of where they have their home market. The sales team, which speaks many languages, thrives in meeting with boat owners personally to better understand their wishes and therefore become more perceptive in helping them fulfill their dreams. This invaluable direct information from client to production has been part of the yard s success over the many years. 73 1) We would like to invite you and your family to visit our outstanding facilities where we can give you a guided tour around our manufacturing plants and let you see the entire build process. 2) In addition to a factory tour we wish to encourage you to visit our all-year round boat showroom where you will be able to see both finished new boats as well as refurbished used boats which we have for sale. 3) We pride ourselves on the standard of our refurbished crafts which are all open for your inspection. 4) In addition to our manufacturing facilities and showroom we also have winter storage available for client s boats which you may also see at your visit. 5) We have our own marina adjacent to the factory site where we could arrange a sea trial in the model of interest to you. This area gives an excellent opportunity for clients to make a test sailing. 6) All new models are designed in-house with computer software Catia V5 and offer clients maximum standard fit out together with customer s choice items. 75 7) In our own moulding plant located in the neighbour village Lysekil, all components of the crafts are produced using the latest technology and materials. 8) All mouldings are laminated by experienced staff who employ strict quality control measures. 9) When successful lamination, trimming, parts assembly and polishing are completed to a high standard, follows transportation to the Vindön plant. 10) Running concurrently with moulding in Lysekil all wooden parts are cut with the aid of CAD-files on our high precision CNC machine at Vindön. 11) In the varnishing room, multiple coats are applied to achieve a perfectly smooth and durable finish. 12) When possible, modules are assembled and completed in work shops prior to final fitting onboard. 77 13) Even as we utilize modern technology we still require craftsmanship and hand finishing before items can be fitted onboard. 14) All crafts are launched, instruments calibrated and engines commissioned including test driven prior to delivery. 15) Our whole team takes pride in each of the boats we produce and look forward to playing their part at the yard. 16) We encourage new owners to take delivery of their craft at Vindön to take full advantage of a two-day handover to include training and familiarization with their new craft.
