4 GB English 10 golden rules for self-measurement of blood pressure 1. Rest for approx. 5 minutes before measurement. Even deskwork increases blood pressure by an average of approx. 6 systolic and 5 diastolic. 2. Do not consume any nicotine or coffee up to one hour before measurement. 3. Do not measure when you have a strong urge to urinate. A full bladder can lead to an increase in blood pressure of approx. 10 mm Hg. 4. Take measurements from the naked upper arm while sitting upright. 5. In the case of using a wrist monitor, hold the cuff at heart level during the measuring procedure. The cuff of an upper arm monitor is automatically placed at the correct level of the arm. 6. Do not talk or move during the measuring procedure. Talking increases the values by approx. 6 7 mm Hg. 7. Wait at least one minute between two measurements, so that the vessels are relieved from pressure in preparation for a new measurement. 8. Enter values in the blood pressure diary: note down the measured values, together with any drugs taken, the date and time in your blood pressure diary.

5 9. Take measurements regularly. Even if your values have improved, you should continue to check them for monitoring purposes. 10. Always take measurements at the same time of day. Because a person has approx. 100,000 different blood pressure values every day, individual measurements have no significance. Only regular measurements at the same time each day over a long period of time allows a meaningful evaluation of blood pressure values. Notes Take note of the date and time when a measurement is taken and enter the higher value (systole) and lower value (diastole), together with the pulse rate, into your blood pressure diary. Measuring blood pressure does not replace treatment or regular check-ups by a physician. Under no circumstances may the prescribed dosage of medicines be altered without a doctor s approval.

6 SI Slovenščina 10 zlatih pravil za merjenje krvnega tlaka 1. Pred merjenjem ostanite mirni za pribl. 5 minut. 7 10. Meritve izvajajte vedno ob enakem času. Ker ima človek vsak dan okoli različnih vrednosti krvnega tlaka, posamezne meritve nimajo nobenega pomena. Samo pod pogojem, da redno merite krvni tlak vsak dan ob istem času preko daljšega časovnega obdobja, je mogoče smiselno ovrednotiti vrednosti krvnega tlaka. Navodila V knjižico krvnega tlaka si zabeležite vsako meritev, datum in čas zgornjo (sistolično) vrednost ter spodnjo (diastolično) vrednost skupaj z vrednostjo pulza. Meritev krvnega tlaka doma ne nadomešča posameznih terapij kot tudi ne rednih pregledov pri zdravniku. Predpisanih odmerkov zdravil nikakor ne smete samovoljno spreminjati.

8 HR Hrvatski 10 zlatnih pravila za mjerenje krvnog tlaka 1. Odmorite se prije mjerenja (oko 5 minuta). Krvni tlak se čak i smirenim umnim radom povećava u prosjeku za oko 6 sistolički i 5 dijastolički. 2. Ne konzumirajte nikotin niti kavu do sat vremena prije mjerenja. 3. Nemojte obavljati mjerenje u trenutku jake potrebe za mokrenjem. Pun mokraćni mjehur može prouzročiti povišenje krvnog tlaka za oko Mjerite u uspravnom sjedećem položaju na goloj nadlaktici. 5. Ako koristite tlakomjer za mjerenje na ručnom zglobu, držite manžetu tijekom mjerenja na visini srca. Kod aparata za mjerenje na nadlaktici namještena manžeta automatski se nalazi na potrebnoj visini. 6. Nemojte se kretati niti govoriti za vrijeme mjerenja. Glasno pričanje povisuje krvni tlak za oko 6 do Između dva mjerenja pričekajte najmanje jednu minutu, kako bi se krvne žile rasteretile i time omogućilo neometano ponovno mjerenje. 8. Unesite izmjerene vrijednosti u priloženu knjižicu. Uz izmjerene vrijednosti u knjižicu uvijek zabilježite i koje ste lijekove tog dana uzeli kao i datum i vrijeme mjerenja. 9. Redovno mjerite krvni tlak. Čak i onda kada Vam se vrijednosti krvnog tlaka poboljšaju, trebali biste ih radi kontrole i dalje

9 stalno provjeravati. 10. Uvijek mjerite u isto doba dana. Budući da se krvni tlak kod ljudi u toku dana promijeni oko puta, pojedinačna mjerenja uvijek oslikavaju samo trenutno stanje. Stoga samo dugoročna redovita mjerenja u isto doba dana i u približno istim uvjetima omogućuju pravo vrednovanje izmjerenih vrijednosti krvnog tlaka. Savjeti za samomjerenje krvnog tlaka Nakon svakog obavljenog mjerenja krvnog tlaka zapišite u ovu knjižicu gornju (sistoličku) i donju (dijastoličku) izmjerenu vrijednost te vrijednost pulsa. Samomjerenje krvnog tlaka ne nadomješta medicinsku terapiju niti redovite liječničke pretrage. Propisane doze lijekova ni u kom se slučaju ne smiju samovoljno mijenjati.

Немојте се кретати нити говорити за време мерења. Унесите измерене вредности у приложену књижицу. Уз измерене вредности у књижицу увек упишите и које сте лекове тог дана узели као и датум и време мерења.

11 9. Редовно мерите крвни притисак. Чак и онда када Вам се вредности крвног притиска побољшају, требало би да их ради контроле и даље самостално проверавате. 10. Увек мерите у исто доба дана. Будући да се крвни притисак код људи у току дана промени око пута, појединачна мерења увек осликавају само тренутно стање. Стога само дугорочна редовна мерења у исто доба дана и по могућству под истим околностима омогућавају праву процену измерених вредности крвног притиска. Напомене у вези са мерењем крвног притиска Након сваког обављеног мерења крвног притиска запишите у ову књижицу горњу (систолну) и доњу (дијастолну) измерену вредност као и вредност пулса. Самомерење крвног притиска није замена за медицинску терапију ни за редовне лекарске контроле. Прописане дозе лекова никако се не смеју мењати самовољно.
