Learn to make these cute, fast, and easy two-tone leather bangles. Lots of versatility here; depending upon your choice of beads, leather colors, charms, etc. This is a good project to use magnetic clasps, in addition to lobster clasps. You will complete two rings in class. Basic wire working experience is helpful but not required. A confluence of two different metals and pretty pearls makes this cuff arm candy that everyone will want. Students will learn to shape and wire wrap heavy gauge wires along with a useful pearl setting technique. Heavy gauge wire manipulation will require good hand strength. Previous wire working experience is helpful but not required. Choose from gemstones, crystals, glass beads or mix them up. Students will also learn how to create a slide knot that will add strength and makes a nice design element. All skill levels welcome. Challenge your peyote and tubular herringbone skills as you create not only a pendant and necklace, but a beaded toggle clasp as well! Imagine a flat right angle weave piece that is rolled into a tube. That s similar to what we ll be stitching except we will stitch it in the round, adding reinforcing stitches to provide strength. Two color version is easier to learn with. Intermediate to advanced students may choose one color. Previous right angle weave experience is required. Rope Chain & Earrings \ $25 Sunday, July 10 (10am-12pm) Leapin Leopard \ $45 Sunday, July 17 (1-5pm) Using the spiral weave as its foundation, this rope pattern uses double rings to lock in that spiral or rope pattern, eliminating the need to manually spiral the chain. Students will also have the opportunity to learn how to weave a graduated rope earring that looks like little icicles. Basic chainmaille experience is required. Required jump ring kits available in SS, SF, copper, brass, bronze. You probably know how to use a graph to follow a peyote stitch pattern. This class will introduce you to the traditional Japanese method - no graph. It s a much faster technique that s fun to learn. And when you re through, you ll be sporting a unique animal print bracelet. No leopards will be harmed during this class. Previous peyote stitch experience is required. Bead It Braid It \ $45 Sunday, July 10 (1-5pm) Roundmaille Duo \ $35 Saturday, July 23 (10am-1pm) Also called speedy looming because that s exactly what it is. Beads are placed onto the warp threads before the loom is dressed and that s what allows you to move along quickly. You ll learn the technique of looming a row and then bringing in a bead from the warp threads. It s twice as fast and twice as sparkly since the beads end up in two different directions. Previous bead looming experience is very helpful but not required. Learn the traditional Roundmaille and it s Turkish Roundmaille variation. Choose your favorite design and make it in class, or start each design in class and finish them at home. This snake-like chain feels so good to the touch and a comfort to wear! Basic chainmaille experience is required. Required jump ring kits available in SS, SF, copper, brass, bronze and two-tone combinations. Modern Tribal Earrings \ $35 Wednesday, July 13 (6-9pm) Floral Garland Rope \ $35 Saturday, July 23 (2-5pm) These richly textured earrings are a nod to carved and embellished wood of battle shields. Making and wearing these will keep your mojo in check! Students will learn the use of templates, basic sheet metal techniques, cold connection, and making custom ear wires. Previous metal working experience is helpful but not required. Create a garland of little floral motifs using a simple netting stitch. Choose five colors of seed beads to create this pattern or if you would like a simpler version that doesn t highlight the floral design you may choose two colors to use instead. Basic bead weaving experience is required. Somewhere Beyond the Sea \ $35 Saturday, July 9 (10am-1pm) Catch-A-Charm Bangle \ $25 Saturday, July 16 (10am-12pm) Square Stitch fs \ $25 Sunday, July 24 (10am-12pm) Learn to make this chic bangle and dress it up any way you like. Students will learn to form heavy gauge wire into a cuff with a built in catch. Embellish it with crystals, pearls, gemstone briolettes, charms, etc. Texture the wire or leave it smooth. This is one versatile bangle. Wire wrapping experience is helpful but not required. Good hand strength is required. Add another stitch to your foundation repertoire and learn how to square stitch this cute little bracelet. The square stitch is an off-loom weave that looks exactly like a loom woven piece. Although the pattern is the same, the stitching technique is considerably different. Square stitch can be slow moving, so this bracelet was designed with crystal segments to break up the monotony and of course to add a bit of sparkle. All skill levels welcome.
4 Dogwood Days \ $45 Sunday, July 24 (1-5pm) UFOs with Wendy \ $35 Saturday, July 30 (1-5pm) Reminiscent of dainty dogwood flowers, these beaded blooms will light up your wrist this season and beyond. Wendy will be at the helm of this catch-up class and will gladly help you get back on track or motivate you to finish that project from way back. Only Wendy and BBW projects will qualify. Conundrum Ring \ $25 Sunday, July 31 (10am-12pm) This bullseye motif chain is a perfect intermediate weave that will test your skills in tight spaces. The foundation of the pattern is quite simple, but when it comes to adding the center rings you ll learn tips and tricks to holding and inserting rings with ease. Basic chainmaille experience is required. Required jump ring kits available in SS, SF, brass, copper, bronze, and multi-tone combinations. A sinuous puzzle of metal and beads forms a double shank ring that is simply elegant. This ring can be made with a variety of metals and beads. Students will learn to form ring blanks, set beads and finish the metal. Two rings can easily be made by experienced metal/wire students. Good hand strength to move heavy wire is helpful. Bullseye Chain & Earrings \ $25 Thursday, July 28 (6-8pm) Flat Herringbone Stitch fs \ $25 Saturday, July 30 (10am-12pm) Tabbed Cab Pendant or Cuff \ $35 Sunday, July 31 (1-4pm) Also known by the name Ndebele, the herringbone is a very supple and delicate stitch that consist of chevron patterned columns.
