5 SPACE THROUGH SPACE HAT YOU HEAR IS NOT A TEST

6 Statement We want to turn the exhibition space into a place of enhancement of vitality. We create vibrating and singing piece that resonate or oscillate. We take part in our sound installations as performers. We consider these performances as a shift of situation, as a time of presentation (rather than a representation), and an intensification of relations between space, objects and the audiance s bodies, focusing on the thin limit between subject and object. We use the sound phenomenon as a stimulating plastic element. The exhibition space becomes a vibrating background where we build animist relations with objects and where we lead plays between elastic bodies stimulated by sound. The exhibition space becomes the privileged place where experience and alternate realities are possible if we re willing to consider the experience as the very meaning of this construction.

Space through space, What you hear is not a test / Lou Masduraud & Antoine Bellini Space through space, What you hear is not a test Sound perfromance festival.perf, Introduction to the Performance Swiss Art Award, Le Commun, Contemporary Art Center, Geneva, Switzerland 1 novembre 2014 Light : Florian Leduc This performance is about sound propagation and his continuous distortion between space and corps.the relationship with what you hear is the heart of this piece, from a simple resonance to a trance state. We explore differents sounds and audio effects on our bodys and their movements. Thoses connections are materialized by costumes designed to fit speakers and dancers as well. Pas de bourrrée, pas de biche / Lou Masduraud & Antoine Bellini Pas de bourrée, pas de biche Parc Saint Leger, Contemporary Art Center, Pougues-Les-Eaux, France Sound performance 23 mars minutes Pas de bourrée, pas de biche is a performance in which Lou Masduraud dances with Sarah Tritz s sculptures exhibited in the Parc Saint Leger. We had hung in the middle of that exhibition, in between two metallic sculptures, our own sculpture called good good good good (vibrations) which interacts with the magnetism surrounding it. The movements of Lou Masduraud are the magnetic source of a strange melody, which is manipulated during the performance by Antoine Bellini. See an extract :

15 4. good good good good good (vibrations) / Lou Masduraud Good good good good ( vibrations ) Good good good good good good (vibrations) Sound sculpture / Thérémin instrument Wood, leather, élèctronics 123 x 50 x 50 cm good good good good (vibrations) is a sculpure that is sensitive to magnetism, it produces sounds according to the physical and magnetic activity happening around it. It is about translating distances and positions into sound. good is a sculptural research integrated to various projects, an object around which I build other researches, performances and concerts. The electronic system, the calibration and the optimisation of the sound width of the basic system (a Moog Etherwave) were operated by Thierry Frenkel, an engineer and a specialist of the first generation of electronic instruments.

Sunset case / Lou Masduraud & Antoine Bellini Sunset case Sound sculpture, 2014 Tables, Wood, spotlight, gelatin, speaker, synthesizer 110 x 180 x 180 cm Sunset case is a sound sculpture based on two projections, a light projection and an audio one on a concave target. The sound is a regular and continuous pulse beamed on the concave screen and conducted by it.

Flat reverb / Lou Masduraud & Antoine Bellini Flat reverb Sound sculpture, Musical Instrument, devices 2014 steel plate, acoustic panels, contact microphones, vibrating speaker, synthesyzer Flat reverb is a sculpture that spreads the sound of a syntesizeur through a large steel plate, which oscillates and transforms the sound with a reverberation effect. The modified sound is recieved by contact microphones, re-amped and spread straight on to acoustic panels.

Behind the curtain / Lou Masduraud et Antoine Bellini Behind the curtain Sound Sculpture, 2014 steel, brass, leather, speaker on stand 240< x >320 cm / ø 65 cm Behind the curtain is a sound sculpture that spread the sound of a little syntesizer through a leather curtain. The leather skin becomes the second membrane of the speaker and the sound is formed with this second skin, which transforms it and turns it smooth.

Chaine d excitation, de l outre à l oreille / Lou Masduraud et Antoine Bellini Chaine d excitation, de l outre à l oreille Centre d Art Plastique ( Fine Art Center ) Saint-Fons, France Sound performance 17 avril minutes This performance is about the intense industrial memory of the city of Saint-Fons, located in the suburb of Lyon. A large steel plate vibrates with sounds provided by two similar forms, also electronic musical instruments, devices and stage design objects. The reverberation effect created by the vibration of the steel sheet is strongly amplified. By carrying objects, caressing them, positioning them, I compose simultateously a strange sensual image and an industrial music piece. Audio record :
