After two years of practice you may seek approval as head of a real estate business. This means that you can be responsible for brokerage commissions and start your own real estate business. You are also eligible for other positions in business and public administration, primarily in areas related to development, management or marketing of properties, but also to other positions in finance and accounting, business development, financial advisory, marketing and other administrative functions. The course will introduce students to the history of Western philosophy with an emphasis on developments within ontology, epistemology, aesthetics, ethics and politics. The main focus will be on themes and concepts which are fundamental for our view of reality, such as rationality, knowledge, science, mind, morality and the human being in relation to nature and society. These issues will also be discussed in terms of their relevance for further research in the human, social and natural sciences as well as in professional studies. The main methods include: lectures, groups working with exercises / case led by the tutor, assignment with supervision and feedback. It is expected that students also work actively with curriculum / literature consecutively. By working with an assignment in groups of 3-5 students, students will receive training in teamwork and team development. The task will also provide training in information-gathering and processing, problem analysis and discussion. The thesis provides specialization in any of the course's theme. It represents an alternative learning method of the subject and is included in the evaluation of the subject. The task usually involves contact with a business so that students connect theory and practice.

6 The course has a twofold evaluation form: An assignment during the semester, counting 40%, these are made normally in groups of 3-5 students, you can get guidance during and after. The course consists of a term paper and an oral examination relating to core aspects of the two courses Real Estate in Practice I and II. The course therefore allows the students to practice their knowledge relating to major areas of the bachelor programme, focusing nevertheless in particular on the two courses entitled: Real Estate in Practice I and II. The specific topic of the term paper may differ, but the students must choose in agreement with the supervisor(s) a topic and problem statement relatong to the real estate business. The same applies for the literature to be used in the term paper. Knowledge: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to possess the following knowledge: Skill: Demonstrate knowledge of self selected topics within real estate. Understand the basic principles of conducting a smaller empirical study Upon successful completion of this course, the student will possess the following skills: Know how to make use of knowledge relating to the real estate business on practical and theoretical problem statements, including formulating a specific problem statement, carry out an associated study and analyzing data, as well as writing a subsequent final report about the study undertaken. General competence: The students obtain competence in reflecting over the relationship between theory and practice in the real estate business. Especially recommended elective courses: Offered as a free-standing course: No In order to take this course, the student must first have completed the following courses: Real Estate in practice I Real Estate in practice II Recommended previous knowledge: Students need a good understanding of real estate disciplines and industry. Mode of delivery: Face-to-face, with individual supervision Lectures, seminars and work-practice. Work requirements There are three work requirements on the course. The first is due during the autumn semester. To complete this requirement the student must write a project description regarding the study to be undertaken. This must be approved by the course coordinator. The second work requirement consists of making an oral presentation of the project work that has been carried out, including preliminary findings and results as well as a description of what remains to be done.

14 The third work requirement is due during the spring semester. This consists of an oral presentation of the project work, similar to the presentation made in relation to the second work requirement, but is nevertheless lengthier. An associated form must also be completed in relation to the third work requirement, somewhat similar to the form completed in relation to the first work requirement. The form related to the work requirement will be made available on Fronter. The term/project paper will be graded (A-F) and counts for 60 % of the grade. The oral exam mentioned earlier will be graded (A-F) and counts for 40 % of the grade. This oral examination is based on the syllabus relating to Real Estate in Practice I and II. The student must have attended all other exams in the bachelor programme in order to undertake the oral exam. Work placement: Students choose between writing a mini bachelor thesis or a more practically oriented term paper. Students selecting the second option are responsible on their own to locate a firm that allows them internship, for the autumn semesters. At least 150 hours must be spent in the field, i.e. in the designated firm. Nothing particular. The choice of syllabus depends on the choice of project paper and associated topics. Study progression requirement: All 1st year courses on the bachelor programme, as well as 30 ECTS from the 2nd study year must be passed, in order for the student to start this third year course. Additionally, in order to be allowed to take the oral examination in this course (as required by regulation), all other courses and exams must have been attended. The student must have attended all other exams in the bachelor programme in order to undertake the oral exam. The process of designing, monitoring, evaluating and testing internal controls related to accounting, as well as financial management in organizations is the central theme of the course. The course also deals with IT-based accounting, as well as management systems impact on the internal control. Topics include: Internal control - the need, purpose and responsibility The components of internal control and design of control Organisation of the accounts, accounting procedures and account plans Quality requirements for financial statements Control and safety in IT-based accounting systems The rules for bookkeeping and mandatory reporting After completing this course, students will have the following learning outcomes:

Mode of delivery: Plenary lectures and assignment work, for a total of approximately 30 hours. Lectures and assignment work (individually and in groups). Designated work with assignments is a necessary part of the learning process. 4 hour written examinations count for 100% of the grade. The overall objective of this course is to provide students with knowledge enabling them to structure, analyze, evaluate and solve complex business-related problems. The course consists of the following two major parts: financial accounting and finance. After completing the course the student should have the following learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding The student will: Skills Be able to master the alternative models for traditional historical cost accounting and assess their applicability in practice. Have a basic understanding of how the various types of business combinations are treated in accounting terms. Have knowledge of the methods of valuation. Possess the necessary knowledge related to the analysis of real estate entities. Have a clear understanding as to how financial markets operate and may be utilized. Be able to evaluate and make use of a number of securities in various situations. The student will: Be able to locate, assess and refer to information and professional material within the business field and present this so that it highlights a problem. Be able to understand and apply various theories and models in major areas within financial accounting, decision-making, finance and management accounting. Be familiar with the preparation and interpretation of accounting information. Be able to understand how capital markets function, how the different securities are priced and understand the risk characteristics of these instruments. Be able to decide how the firm's assets should be financed (debt versus equity) and how annual profits should be distributed (dividend policy). Be able to handle the firm's risk exposure, including exchange rate risk, by using derivatives and other financial instruments. General Competence The student will: Be able to convey key subject matter as the theories, issues and solutions both in writing, orally and through other appropriate forms of expression. Be able to make appropriate decisions from the firm's point of view, based on well-founded problems and understanding of opportunities and possible outcomes. Be able to exchange views and experiences with others with backgrounds in the field of business and thereby contribute to the development of good practice.
