We hope this information will be helpful to the U.S. Government purchasers as they make purchasing decisions in light of the requirements of Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act. The following Summary Report sets forth each of the major categories from the accessibility standards of the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (36 CFR Part 1194) and denotes which of these standards we feel applies and, in turn, which are supported by product features. The Detailed Report delineates the specific Electronic and Information Accessibility Standards set forth in the Board s standards and explains the specific features of the Sony product that support the particular standards. Workflow and System: The Sony External USB floppy disk drive, connected to a Sony VAIO PC, stores, retrieves, and plays data. The software installed on the Sony VAIO PC controls the Sony External USB floppy disk drive. These summary and detailed reports address this particular Workflow and System which contains accessibility features as described on the following pages. The focus shall be programmatically exposed so that assistive technology can track focus and focus changes. When an image represents a program element, the information conveyed by the image must also be available in text. When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance. Textual information shall be provided through operating system functions for displaying text. The minimum information that shall be made available is text content, text input caret location, and text attributes. Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections and other individual display attributes. When animation is displayed, the information shall be displayable in at least one non-animated presentation mode at the option of the user.
