8 temptation c product description Product family The temptation c desking programme has various options for adjusting the height that facilitate a wide range of ergonomic solutions. The continuous design language is ideal for creating visually matching combinations of the various height adjustment options. The programme includes: Desks Telescopic height adjustment Tool-less ratchet adjustment Crank-operated height adjustment Gas spring height adjustment Motorised height adjustment in two heights Linking and add-on elements Returntable Frame system The frame system is based on a beam solution consisting of a central or double beam and table top support. The supporting frame is always adapted perfectly to the shape of the table top. From a desk width of 1 mm, an additional stabilisation strut is inserted in the front area of the table top. The table top supports ensure a high level of stability, and are also used to hold third level adapters, a CPU holder and laptop holder. Desks with telescopic, tool-less ratchet adjustment or crank-operated height adjustment The user-friendly frame system for desks that adjust either telescopically, tool-less ratchet adjustment or by means of a crank consists of a central beam with welded table top supports. This steel frame is screwed to the table top. It varies according to the width and the depth of the table top. The leg frames are screwed securely to the frame. Desks with gas spring or motorised height adjustment The frame system is based on a beam solution consisting of a double beam and welded table top supports. The motors and control mechanisms are framed by the double beams. The ultra strong connection between the leg frames and frame system is achieved by means of a sturdy screw system with six bushes that ensures the optimum transmission of force to the frame system. The compact construction of the connection between columns and frame system, and the optimum positioning of the columns, eliminates the need for an additional cross-piece between the leg frames. Depending on the application, asymmetrical leg frames of and 900 mm depth or symmetrical leg frames of 600 mm depth will be used for the end leg frames. Height adjustment by telescope, tool-less ratchet adjustment or crank The leg frames are screwed securely to the central beam. The holder forms a strong yet simple interface for quick assembly. The combination of positive fit and positive connection helps to achieve the high level of stability. Gas spring height adjustment The desks have control columns with gas spring technology. The columns are synchronised by means of a shaft. The telescopic leg has a high quality chrome-plated surface. Motorised height adjustment The desks contain a control column with one drive per leg frame. The motors are contained in steel housings on the outside that are connected to the frame system by means of six bushes, and ensure the optimum transmission of force to the frame. The smooth gliding movement ensures that the single or double telescope runs safely, guaranteeing a high level of stability. Castors Sets of castors are available as accessories for desks with telescopic, tool-less ratchet adjustment or crank-operated height adjustment. The castors are 50 mm in diameter. The desk is 55 mm higher if castors are used. Please note that desks on castors may not fulfil all the criteria of the GS certificate, in particular desks with support legs. 9 temptation c product description The worktops are available as 19 mm three-ply fine chipboard with a melamine resin finish or veneer. A wide range of worktop sizes and contours is available. Model features Desks with telescopic height adjustment and tool-less ratchet adjustment Desks with telescopic height adjustment and tool-less ratchet adjustment can be set to the optimum ergonomic position for the individual user s seated height. The adjustment range meets the requirements of the European standard EN The tool-less height adjustment is in increments of 10 mm and is characterised by user-friendly operation. Desks with crank-operated height adjustment Desks with crank-operated height adjustment can quickly be set to the optimum ergonomic position for the individual user s seated height. Because they are easily set to individual height, they are ideal for use in call centres or when desk-sharing. The adjustment range meets the requirements of the European standard EN The crank is securely attached to the user s right side, and is pulled forward to activate. Desks with gas spring height adjustment Desks with gas spring height adjustment enable the user to change their position at the desk, which is ideal for people with health problems or to prevent the same. The seated/standing height can be adjusted in moments. Gas spring height adjustment is notable for: not requiring a source of energy not requiring electricity, so no costs for stand-by being very quiet being easy to adjust being very easy to control The height is adjusted smoothly and continuously by means of a user friendly hand lever attached under the table top on the front right side. To ensure the optimum lift function when choosing a gas spring desk, the anticipated load on the desk resulting from add-on elements, technical equipment and individual use is to be defined. The gas springs have been designed for a desktop load of 20 kg. Desks with motorised height adjustment Desks with motorised height adjustment enable users to change their position at the desk at the touch of a button, which is ideal for people with health problems or to prevent the same. Desks with motorised height adjustment are notable for the following characteristics: very good control very long-lasting glide movement for high load-bearing capacity motors run simultaneously thanks to synchronous control Soft-Start-Stop for smooth height adjustment collision protection very quiet in operation adjustment range with 600 mm stroke as per draft standard pren 527-1:2008 The height adjustment is operated by means of a user-friendly up-down control element attached under the table top on the front right side. A control element with digital height display and quadruple memory function is also available, so that the height settings for individual users in, for instance, a call centre can quickly be called up. The speed of adjustment is approx. 38 mm/sec in neutral. The effective utilisable load is up to 70 kg, depending on the size of the desk. Because there is no need for an additional cross-piece between the leg frames, pedestals of any depth can be used. The lowest position of a desk using a pedestal that is 8 units high with a 19 mm top shelf is 670 mm; using a pedestal that is 9 units high with a 19 mm top shelf it is 720 mm (motorised height adjustment 685/735 mm, motorised height adjustment with sliding top or cable flap 705/755 mm). These dimensions apply for Sedus mobile pedestals. In order to prevent injuries from crushing or abrasion, a minimum gap of 25 mm should be left between adjoining surfaces. Sensor disconnection is optionally available for motorised tables. In case of collision the sensor measures the invisible minimal deformations or tension changes in the table frame. This information is also evaluated for anti-collision. The sensor disconnection is available for linear tables with a fixed table top. System technology Linking Desks are linked using a symmetrical linking leg frame, 600 mm deep. It has a support console that ensures the link is level and stable. With linear links, the support console is connected to the central beams of the linked elements. When linking an add-on element, the top of the add-on element is placed on top of the support console. Return tables have a beam under the worktop. This fits in the table top support of the basic table. An additional panel support ensures that the connection is level and stable. A link is only possible in conjunction with telescopic height adjustment. Add-on options Third level The third level adapter is attached to the table top support of the supporting frame. The adapter can be secured to the table top in three positions at any depth, and is used in conjunction with a grommet to create a block of two desks without a gap. The following elements can be attached using the adapter: Functions bridge Screen elements Workstation lamps Monitor support Spacer For motorised tables, black spacers used in different configurations are available that guarantee a safety distance of 30 mm. For the use of privacy screens at the back of double workstations a spacer is available for 100 mm gaps. 9

10 temptation c product description CPU holder The CPU holder is secured to the table top support. The useful area of the support plate is 290 x 159 mm. The maximum load is 10 kg. The holder follows the height setting of the desk. Laptop holder Laptop holders in vertical and horizontal versions are available for the temptation c desking programme. They are attached to the table top support. The useful area of the support plate of the horizontal version is 350 x 330 mm. The laptop holders follow the height setting of the desk. On desks with crank-operated height adjustment, a CPU or laptop holder can only be attached on the left-hand side. Printer shelf The printer shelf, which has a compartment for paper, is attached to the leg frame. The useful area of the shelf is 450 x 335mm. The maximum load is 10 kg. The printer shelf follows the height setting of the desk. Modesty panel The Plexiglas modesty panel is fixed directly to the table top by means of adaptors. The modesty panel follows the height setting of the desk. Electrification Horizontal cable management The cable trays, which fold down on both sides and run the full width of the desk, are attached below the worktop. They can accommodate 3 or 4 socket module to provide the power underneath the desk. The cable trays also provide enough space and attachment possibilities for left-over cables. The cable trays offer easy access when folded down. As an option clips for the attachment of left-over cables in the cable tray or holder for sockets modules are available. Electrical connection flap The flush cable flaps extend over the entire table width, at the rear edge of the desk. As part of the linear desktops they are made of 19 mm three-layer chipboard in table top design. With an opening angle of 90 they provide quick and convenient access to the cable tray. The electrical connection flaps close with cushioning. Between table top and electrical connection flaps there are flexible brushes through which cables can be fed onto the table wherever required. When ordering a table with an electrical connection flap, the fixed cable channel is automatically included. From a table width of 1400 mm, the electrical connection flap is divided in two. Sliding top Sliding tops are available for designated desks with a height adjustment range of mm and motorised height adjustment. The table top pulls forward by 185 mm for optimum access to the cable channel for the electrical connections. When ordering a desk with a sliding top, the fixed cable channel is automatically included. A central locking mechanism guarantees safe closing, and prevents the worktop from accidentally being released. Vertical cable management Cables are invisibly guided from the floor to the cable channel by means of an optional cable chain. The flexible cable management with cable separation and strain relief is positioned on the cable channel. For desks an optional cable management cover made out of steel is available to guide the cable along the leg frame. Regarding the design language and the consistency of the surface the cable management cover is designed to match the desk. Round grommets Cables can be guided through the table top by means of round grommets. There are two versions to choose from: The split round grommet with square cover has a useful diameter of 70 mm and is positioned 230 mm from the side edge of the desk and 120 mm from the rear edge of the desk. The large rectangular grommet with a hinged steel-cover has a useful area of 250 x 90 mm providing optimum access to the cable tray. The grommet is positioned 120 mm (centre of grommet) from the rear edge of the desk. The cables can be guided to the desk through an integrated brush profile. Cable grommets cannot be used in conjunction with a sliding top. Edged grommets An edged grommet is used to guide the cable along the rear edge of the desk when desks are grouped together in blocks without gaps or positioned against a wall. The edged grommet with a section of 70/50 x 30 mm is applied to the back edge of the desk 155 mm from the side edge. The cover of the grommet is split. Removing the whole cover, the grommet offers enough space to attach the third level adaptor besides the cables. So a face-to-face combination of the tables is possible without any gap. By removing the cover fractionally it is possible to guide single cables through the grommet. Surfaces Frame sections All steel frame sections are finished with solvent-free, environmentally friendly powder coatings. The supporting frame is black. The leg frames are available in white, white aluminium and black. The two-tone leg supports with a strut in black create an interesting contrast. The cover of the leg support is also available in a chrome-plated version for a particularly elegant effect. Table tops The table tops are available in the following designs: 19 mm three-ply fine chipboard: Melamine resin coating as a plain surface or various wood designs (surface to EN 14322), all-round PP laser edge in the same finish as the top The minimum light-fastness is 6 on the wool scale. Substrate according to EN Real wood surface using high quality veneers, side edges with veneer edging, surface finished with high quality, durable DD lacquer Veneer is a natural product. The colour of the veneer is determined by the type and structure of the wood, and may vary. All woods change colour over time because of the effects of light. Natural differences are not a cause for complaint, but in fact confirm that the material is genuine. Surface gloss and reflection levels have tested DIN EN compliant with the exception of the pure white, black ash, walnut, graphite black and 10

11 temptation c product description Ebony melamine surfaces, linoleum, the veneers ash black, beech in walnut look, oak in wenge look, walnut natural and walnut dark. Only E1 quality wood materials are used as a rule. Packaging Items are delivered in sections for on-site final assembly in order to keep the transport volume as small as possible. The desk with gas spring will be delivered assembled. The desking programme temptation c thus provides consistency in planning. Frame system The frame system of the conference tables is based on special system support beams. These are screwed firmly to the table top and run symmetrically to the table depth at a distance apart of 450 mm. With two-part conference tables the table tops are connected by means of stable linking brackets. This slots into the system support beams from the side and then spreads out to create a force- and form-fitting connection. Leg frames The attachment of the leg frames to the system support beams by means of adapter bridges is force- and form-fitting. This defined interface makes assembly and dismantling of the leg frames simple. Depending on the shape and dimensions of the table top, the leg frames are on the outside or they are set back by 310 mm. The height of the leg frames is 740 mm. The cross section of the rectangular vertical tube is 90 x 50 mm. Table top shapes The following table top shapes are available for the temptation c conference tables: Linear mm deep, 1000 mm deep Convex Ellipse Trapezoid The table tops are available as 25 mm thick three-layer chipboard with melamine resin finish or veneer. The cable management cover is designed to match the table. Optionally temptation c conference tables can be prepared for the installation of socket modules integrated into the table. This means electronic devices can be connected within easy reach of the user. The surcharge for the option Preparation for socket module Netbox Turn Comfort only includes the cutout. The surcharge for the option Preparation for socket module Power Frame includes both the cutout and the socket module frame. The frame is available in white and white aluminium. The socket modules and their individually selectable inserts must be ordered through the price list power & data.
