2 COMPANY PROFILE The journey of Falmec, a company founded by Danilo and Maurizio Poser and specialised in the design and manufacture of cooker hoods, began in 1981, the year of its founding. The value of Falmec cooker hoods and extraction systems was born from a precise dedication to quality, which, since the dawning of the company, has been demonstrated in its choice to exclusively manufacture this type of product, in order to concentrate its technological know-how in a single area and thereby achieve excellence. In over thirty years of business, Falmec has been continuously evolving, also as a result of its ability to interpret the most current and trendy tastes. All of its manufacturing is characterised by quality, design, form and function, and in matching materials such as steel and glass. The search for innovative technical solutions with respect for the environment has improved the product to reach a mediumhigh end target, which thinks of furnishing in terms of liveability and well-being. Falmec currently has 130 employees. The entire production cycle is carried out in the Vittorio Veneto facility, with over 150,000 estimated units for The Italian market represents 45% of its entire turnover, with 70% of this amount consisting of national kitchen manufacturers and 30% achieved by the distribution network. The main foreign countries in which our products are sold are Germany, France, Spain, Russia, Poland, Denmark, England, Scandinavian countries, and Brazil, where we have a production facility expressly dedicated to the domestic market. Falmec s commercial strategy is to team up with partners who share the company s vision, with a long-term focus and a shared investment in the market. And this is why we have consolidated our relations with various shareholdings, and also, where possible, with actual branches (Germany and Poland). The company s significant growth both in Italy and abroad is a confirmation of the value and quality of its products. The range that Falmec is able to offer is unequalled on the market, both due to the broadness of its range and due to the numerous variations, sizes and finishings. A testimony to this is the recent kbbreview Industry Awards 2011 award, received in London from the prestigious kbb magazine, in the Magazine Reader s Product Design category, where the public voted for the product they preferred based on its design, technology and functionality. 3 MANUFACTURING PHILOSOPHY Stratox Steel Stratox is a manufacturing technology patented by Falmec, used to create very thin layered panels. This very versatile system guarantees excellent finishings as well as curved or uniquely shaped forms. The external finishing may be multi-layered or smooth. Fasteel This special patented no finger-prints treatment ensures that prints, spots and streaks do not form on the surface. It is completely resistant to corrosive agents and is guaranteed to be extremely easy to clean. Aisi 304 Steel The prevalent steel used is Aisi 304, which is a valued material that costs almost double common Aisi 430. This steel has a very different chemical structure. Thanks to the presence of Nickel (not present in Aisi 430), it is notably more resistant to corrosive agents. It is also antimagnetic. Qualità For Falmec, quality, which at times may not be perceived by the customer, is fundamental. In fact, the results are absolutely apparent in the medium-long term. Improvements, not always visible but certainly evident, are part of a continuous process of evolution, which is certainly valued by the public and by the entire distribution chain. Each cooker hood is accurately finished and examined through visual aesthetic controls and an operations test. Research and technology In addition to design and attention to the particulars, Falmec has also innovated the cooker hood s functionality, with ultra efficient motors, charcoal filters and top quality metals. The latest important revolution is the Silence Collection. As a result of over one year of research in fluid dynamics and materials, Falmec was able to develop a system that is the epitome of silence. Until now, there has never been a similarly performing cooker hood on the market with such a low noise level. Thanks to NRS (Noise Reduction System) technology, developed and patented by Falmec, the problem of noise has been definitively resolved with the new Silence Collection. Extraction There are essentially two types of extraction. Traditional extraction with 6 layers of aluminium mesh and a steel structure, and perimeter extraction. The latter is, in practice, a slit that runs along the perimeter of the bottom of the cooker hood. The suction is then concentrated within a smaller space, guaranteeing more uniform extraction and more aesthetic cleanliness. 4 ADARA Wall-mounted cooker hood The original design of this cooker hood is reminiscent of an eagle, circling in the air. The structure of the filtration unit is integrated into the glass skirt, following its curve. This makes the look of the overall piece particularly light. 5 BUTTERFLY The island model has a hi-tech design with a trapezoidal shape, and the two frontal doors have an automatic opening system. The wall-mounted model, on the other hand, only has the trapezoidal part in the front, and has only one frontal door with the automatic opening system.
