After ascertaining that the child was unharmed, the operator left the scene without making himself known. Officer searched the area with negative results. Officers report a sudden death. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner declined jurisdiction. A priest from St. Mary's was transported to the scene via cruiser for last rights. The victim stated that he was contacted on the telephone by someone identifying themselves as being from Nationl Grid. The victim was instructed to put $ on a prepaid credit card and call another telephone number with the information. The victim did as he was instructed only to learn later that this was a scam.
