Officer responded and asked parties to be on their way. Well Being Check September 1, Tuesday at 08: LORING AVE Additional Details: Concerned mother of SSU student called, wanted a well-being check of her daughter due to medical conditions. Officers responded to place of residence and found SSU student well, informed her to call mother. Vehicle Stop September 1, Tuesday at 22: Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop #MA 2VB956 on Lafayette Street at the Faculty lot. Officer gave verbal warning to operator for violation. Well Being Check September 2, Wednesday at 00: Additional Details: Party called station to report a concern for a distraught female party at the bus stop on Central Campus. Description given by called as a white female wearing dark clothes but officer were unable to locate the female during a check of the area. Vehicle Stop September 2, Wednesday at 15: Additional Details: Officer reports a MV stop (MA 51TJ72) at Loring Ave and Raymond Road for a cross-walk violation. Officer gave operator a verbal warning for failure to stop for pedestrians in cross-walk. Vehicle Stop September 2, Wednesday at 15: Additional Details: Officer on MV stop with Ma 878ZK7 for one-way violation on College Drive. Officer gave verbal warning to operator. Vehicle Stop September 2, Wednesday at 15: Additional Details: Officer on MV stop on Central Campus Roadway with ME Veterans Plate for Marked Lanes Violation observed on Loring Ave. Operator given verbal warning and sent on his way. Suspicious Person September 2, Wednesday at 16: CANAL ST Additional Details: Call received to report suspicious male party in second floor lounge. Caller concerned for his well-being. 2 Suspicious Circumstances September 2, Wednesday at 22: LIBRARY LOT Additional Details: Officer checked on a party found sleeping in their vehicle. WMS and license came back active. Party was sent on their way. Suspicious Person September 3, Thursday at 14: LORING AVE Additional Details: Staff of Navigation center requested an officer to stand by while they deal with a party that may be a problem. Officer stood by until staff informed the office that everything was fine and the issue at hand was resolved. Any non-injury TA September 3, Thursday at 17: LORING AVE Additional Details: Officer responding to 57 Loring Ave rear for a reported past MVA (Hit and Run). Report taken. Vehicle Stop September 4, Friday at 00: Additional Details: Officer out on Central Campus Roadway with MV for illegal left turn at Canal and Loring. Operator given verbal warning and sent on their way. Vehicle Stop September 4, Friday at 07: Additional Details: Officer out with MA reg 278ZC1 at Central Campus roadway for Stop Sign Violation. Driver issued verbal warning for violation. Vehicle Stop September 4, Friday at 10: Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop #NH H7217 for a stop sign violation. Officer issued citation #M to operator for violation and sent on thier way. Suspicious Activity September 4, Friday at 18: LORING AVE Additional Details: Chartwells employee report an unknown years in age left without paying for meal or the bag of fruit she left with. Patrol searched the area but was unable to locate the female in question Vehicle Stop September 4, Friday at 23: HARRISON RD Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop for failing to use turn signals. Officer gave verbal warning to operator and sent on their way. Verbal Domestic Dispute September 5, Saturday at 02: HARRISON RD Additional Details: Officers called for domestic dispute. Upon arrival both parties were gone but soon returned. Dispute was verbal in nature, never got physical between parties. Assault & Battery (A&B) September 5, Saturday at 03: LORING AVE Additional Details: Officers dispatched to Atlantic Hall for a incapacitated individual but upon arrival it was discovered that a fight had previously taken place and an individual had been sprayed with pepper spray by a female student. 3 Vehicle Stop September 5, Saturday at 11: CANAL ST Additional Details: Officer out with MV ( MD 1BX1877) in O'Keefe Lot. Driver using lot to practice driving, on learners permit. Officer cleared area without incident. Vehicle Stop September 5, Saturday at 13: Additional Details: Officer out with MA #796XL1 on Central Campus roadway for Stop Sign Violation. Driver given verbal warning for violation and sent on their way. Vehicle Stop September 5, Saturday at 20: Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop with MV #MA 836ECE on Jefferson Ave. Officer gave a verbal warning to the operator. Noise Complaint September 5, Saturday at 23: HARRISON RD Additional Details: Salem resident reported a noise complaint from the BAtes area. Officers sent to area and found that a house party was clearing out upon arrival. Residents were advised to keep the noise down. Area very active. Well Being Check September 6, Sunday at 00: HARRISON RD Additional Details: Call received of report of crying female party on the ground between Bates buildings #3 and #4. Units arived and found no one. Noise Complaint September 6, Sunday at 00: Additional Details: Salem resident reported a noise complain from a group of people gathering on the bike path. Officer responds and all parties on the bike path cleared the area without incident. All in order. Well Being Check September 6, Sunday at 01: Lot A Additional Details: Suspicious party on Lilac Lane (Between Sullivan and Admin. Buildings). Party was tying his shoes. He was sent on his way. Vehicle Stop September 6, Sunday at 02: Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop on Central Campus Road for speeding. Officer issued a verbal warning. Well Being Check September 6, Sunday at 12: LORING AVE Additional Details: Dispatch reports father of female student came into station to report that he was unable to contact his daughter and he was there to pick her up. 4 Suspicious Person September 6, Sunday at 19: LINCOLN RD Additional Details: Neighbor reports seeing 4 males in ball field area that might be smoking marijuana. Unit dispatched to area but unable to locate the 4 males, gone on arrival. Well Being Check September 6, Sunday at 19: LORING AVE Additional Details: Officers out to perform well being check within Bowditch Hall on female student, concerned friends report that they are afraid that she will try to drive home after drinking today. Officers found female student, not found to be intoxicated and informed of her friends concerns, units clear. Well Being Check September 6, Sunday at 20: LORING AVE Additional Details: Dispatch reports father of male student called concerned for her son s well-being since she was unable to contact him via cell phone. Officer dispatched to students room within MArsh Hall, found male student sleeping and informed him to call parents. Units clear. Noise Complaint September 6, Sunday at 23: Additional Details: Salem resident of West Ave. reported a noise complaint of large group assumed to be students leaving Forest River Park and headed back to the University. Advised resident for future reference that she have to call Salem PD. Received another call from Salem 25 that the large group is heading towards campus. Officers and Salem PD escorted parties out of the park and all have left the area. Suspicious Person September 6, Sunday at 23: LORING AVE Additional Details: Female student called about possibly being followed by an unknown white male from the Campus Center to the Sullivan Building. Officers checked area but no one found that matched the description given. Suspicious Activity September 6, Sunday at 23: LORING AVE Additional Details: Officer out behind Horace Mann school with 7 individuals, trespassing. All parties checked for warrants with negative results and sent on their way. Units clear. Suspicious Person September 7, Monday at 01: LAFAYETTE ST Additional Details: Party reported that as she was leaving the library and walked pass the campus center, she observed a suspicious person sitting at the picnic table. Party stated that the suspicious person began to follow her up the stairs very closed towards Sullivan building. Subject described as a white male in the early 20s, 5'7"tall, and wearing a hat and yellow Curry basketball Jersey. Officers responded and did an area check with negative results. Suspicious Person September 7, Monday at 01: LORING AVE Additional Details: Officer out with three subjects at the side of central campus classroom building. They were asked to leave the area and complied. Parties were sent on their way. Vehicle Stop September 7, Monday at 09: RAYMOND ROAD Additional Details: Officer on MV Stop with MA #7MK350 for failing to stop for pedestrians in cross-walk. 5 Suspicious Activity September 7, Monday at 19: LAFAYETTE ST Additional Details: Officer approached by female student stating that a male party might be trying to gain access to building 9Sullivan Building) Area checked, both interior and exterior and nothing found. Units clear. Suspicious Circumstances September 7, Monday at 21: LAFAYETTE ST Additional Details: Biology Professor reported several parties on the fifth floor classroom in Meier Hall. Party is concerned stating that the building is suppose to be closed and there have been thefts lately. Units were dispatched to investigate. Both units report parties gone on arrival. Suspicious Activity September 7, Monday at 23: Additional Details: 2 Female students called to report they were being harassed by 2 male parties on Loring Ave near the Rainbow Terrace area. Officers responded and found Dustin Landry (DOB 12/16/1982, 51 Saunders St, Lynn Ma) and Phillip Miller-Reynolds 9DOB 11/22/1996, 8 Raymond Road, Salem MA) who were identified by 2 female students as being the individuals that were harassing them. Parties told to cease the harassment and sent on their way after a warrant check was performed with negative results. Well Being Check September 8, Tuesday at 01: COLLEGE DR Additional Details: Mother called stating her son was on campus to visit a friend but never arrived home tonight. Officers sent to room within Peabody Hall that male party was supposed to be visiting and found unharmed. Male party instructed to call his mother, units clear. Larceny Under $250 (Criminal Compl) September 8, Tuesday at 12: CANAL ST Additional Details: Female student reports money stolen ($40.00) from women s locker room within the O Keefe. Officer responded and report taken. Suspicious Circumstances September 8, Tuesday at 12: LORING AVE Additional Details: Officer to check on a report of an opened door (RM229), area checked and found to be in order. Well Being Check September 8, Tuesday at 13: CAV COACH BUS #986 Additional Details: Officers performing a wellbeing check on Cavalier Coach Bus #986 due to reports of no AC with this extreme heat. Bus found with driver and 1 passenger with no problems encountered. Bus removed from service and replacement being sent. Vehicle Stop September 9, Wednesday at 03: Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop with #MA 952ZC4 for plate light violation. Officer issued a verbal warning for violation and operator sent on their way. Any non-injury TA September 9, Wednesday at 13: CANAL ST Additional Details: Officer to take a report of a minor MVA, no injuries, within O'Keefe parking lot. 6 Missing Person September 10, Thursday at 10: LORING AVE Additional Details: Report of a missing female student who has been missing since Monday, September 7, Student was eventually found after extensive searching by this and other departments on 9/17/2015. MV Crash September 10, Thursday at 22: LORING AVE Additional Details: Caller reported that she struck another MV in the Central Campus parking area this morning with her MV. Caller states she left a note but wanted to inform us in case the note fell off. Info added to CAD/ RMS. Operator of MA #9933YL given verbal for violation, unit clear. Vehicle Stop September 11, Friday at 15: Administration lot Additional Details: Officer out with vehicle stop Loring Ave for speeding. Operator of MA #887FF9 given verbal for violation, unit clear. Suspicious Person September 11, Friday at 20: PICKMAN PARK Additional Details: Officer on patrol out with four parties at Pickman Park. All parties checked out and were informed that the park is closed. While in the area had two additional parties that were also advised to exit the park. Officers responded and checked the area and no persons in need of assistance were found, GOA. Vehicle Stop September 12, Saturday at 03: LORING AVE AT SUMNER ROAD Additional Details: Officer out with vehicle stop at Loring and Sumner Street for plate light out. Operator of MA #786RB6 given verbal for violation, unit clear. Vehicle Stop September 12, Saturday at 12: Additional Details: Officer out with vehicle stop within Harrington Building parking lot for excessive speed. Operator of MA #499CM2 given verbal for violation, unit clear. Officer issued written violation #R for cross walk violation. Noted that officer had stopped for pedestrians in cross walk and vehicle cited passed cruiser on right while pedestrians were in cross walk. Any non-injury TA September 14, Monday at 08: MEIER DRIVEWAY Additional Details: Salem State employee came to station to report a past MVA that occurred on Meier Drive, report taken. Suspicious Circumstances September 14, Monday at 10: NEW CANAL ST LOT Additional Details: Officer spoke with operator of MA #683XR2 with a report of a smashed window. Report taken that it may have been damaged due to landscaping company. Officer spoke with Butler landscaping and they agreed to pay for the damage through their insurance company. All parties in agreement and satisfied. Well Being Check September 14, Monday at 12: LORING AVE Refer Other Agency Additional Details: Dispatched called by concerned Health and Counseling employee in regards to a student who posted that she was going to harm herself. Student lives off campus so the local police were contacted to perform a wellbeing check. Local police report that they were called to the students address at 3:00am this morning and transported her to the local hospital. Health Services contacted and given information. Noise Complaint September 15, Tuesday at 02: LORING AVE Additional Details: Caller reports that someone is yelling either inside her building or outside but this yelling ism keeping her awake. Officers checked the area both inside and out with no one found, GOA. Initial report of missing student is Suspicious Circumstances September 15, Tuesday at 11: BIKE PATH AREA Additional Details: Officer responds to a report of a suspicious package on bike path area. Called described the package as black plastic wrapped in masking tape with writing. Officer investigated and found it to be not dangerous. Officer discarded of contents. Units clear. Vehicle Stop September 15, Tuesday at 12: JEFFERSON AT LORING Additional Details: Officer out with motor vehicle MA#5JTF90 at Jefferson and Loring for illegal left hand turn. Operator given verbal warning for violation and sent on their way. Class not in session, officer to check other classes during the day. Student not in class, officer to check other classes during the day. (Initial CFS # ) Well Being Check September 16, Wednesday at 14: LORING AVE Additional Details: Caller contacted the 911 system to report a kidnapping of her brother who is an employee with Chartwells Food Service. Officers responded and investigated. Officers discovered that male party is scheduled to work that day. Reporting party called back to report she made contact with her brother. She was advised from her brother that the phone call to her was a scam. All clear. Well Being Check September 16, Wednesday at 16: LAFAYETTE ST Additional Details: Officer out to check the well being for a missing party that should be in class. Reported that party was not in class. Suspicious Circumstances September 16, Wednesday at 17: LORING AVE Additional Details: Caller reported that she can hear a female party screaming on the back side of Bowditch. Officer responded and checked on party link to situation. Party reported that screaming was a joke. All clear. Suspicious Circumstances September 16, Wednesday at 21: LORING AVE Additional Details: Caller reported that two RAs at Marsh Hall had concerns of a student who has a large knife. Officer investigated, found 2 knives that have been taken from student and held at police station. Vehicle Stop September 17, Thursday at 00: Additional Details: Officer out with motor vehicle MA #297NR8 for loud/ objectionable noise (Music) and having an expired registration. Issued verbal warning for noise and allowed to renew registration on line within car. Party sent on their way. Malicious Destruction of Property September 17, Thursday at 11: LORING AVE Additional Details: Chartwells employee at station to report damage to his vehicle while parking on campus. Officer met with party that states within last two weeks his vehicle has been damages (dents and keyed ) while parked within university parking lots. Report taken Well Being Check September 17, Thursday at 13: LORING AVE Additional Details: Sergeant reports that he has personally identified the previously reported missing student (Tiara Camp) within the Navigation Center located on Central Campus. Officer reports Ty Dawson, DOB 4/2/97, 58 Lourdes Drive Leominster MA placed in protective custody due to his current condition and brought to Salem Police for holding. Vehicle Stop September 18, Friday at 10: central campus enterprise lot Additional Details: Officer out with MV on Central Campus roadway, plate #MABB6030 for marked lanes violation. Officer issued Citation #R to Robert Bocage, DOB 4/18/1978, 1207 Broughton Dr. Beverley MA for marked lanes violation Vehicle Stop September 18, Friday at 18: LORING AVE FRONT OF VIKING Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop for improper left turn on Loring Ave. Officer issued a verbal warning to the operator and was sent on their way. Suspicious Circumstances September 18, Friday at 20: HARRISON RD Additional Details: RA reported that she found paraphernalia drug in Bates complex. Officers responded and took items from RA's to be destroyed. Suspicious Activity September 18, Friday at 21: FOREST RIVER PARK Additional Details: Officer out with three parties at Forest River Park. Parties were checked out and notified that the park is closed. Exited the area with no incident. On the way out, officers advised seven other parties that the park is closed. All clear. 12 Assault and Battery on Public Employees September 18, Friday at 22: LORING NEXT TO SULLIVAN Cleared by Arrest BLD Additional Details: Two officers out with 2 male parties on Loring Ave near Sullivan Building. Officers report Justin Keene (DOB 3/2/96, 73 Loring Ave Salem MA) will be summoned for being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Austin Gath (DOB 8/2/95, 16 Independence Dr. Pepperell MA) will be arrested for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer as well as Resisting Arrest. Units clear report to be written. Suspicious Person September 18, Friday at 23: Additional Details: Officer out with two parties inside of park off campus. Parties were identified and advised the park was closed. Exited the area with no incident. All clear. Vehicle Stop September 18, Friday at 23: LORING AVE, SALEM, MA Additional Details: Officer out with MV stop for stopping in the roadway. Officer issued a verbal warning to the operator and was sent on their way. Well Being Check September 19, Saturday at 01: LORING AVE Additional Details: Caller concerned with well being of her daughter who is visiting a resident in Bowditch hall because she was not answering her phone. Officers responded and found the party in question. She was instructed to call her mother. Officers spoke with mother. All clear. Well Being Check September 19, Saturday at 02: LORING AVE Additional Details: Call into station from concerned female student in regards to boyfriend possibly doing harm to himself. Boyfriend lives out of state, State police in that area notified for well being check. Suspicious Person September 19, Saturday at 02: RAYMOND RD & LORING AVE Additional Details: Officers reports out with Ronald Jarosz (DOB 12/6/96, 5 Wilson Street Saugus Ma) who was found screaming on Loring Ave. Upon further interactions with Mr. Jarosz it was determined that he was intoxicated and clearly posed a threat to himself was placed in Protective Custody and brought to Salem PD for holding.
