1 Equipment ation for Campuses (Access Points () & Network Switches (NS)) District Identifier: 319-&NS ation Posting Date: Background The Calcasieu Parish School Board (CPSB) is requesting proposals for the installation of data wiring within the listed school sites to provide network communications for Ethernet communications devices within the site. Successful installer will provide all network equipment as well as installation. Description Listed below are the current specs for the needed solution. Access points and switch equipment purchased through E-rate will be installed in designated network racks. Switch gear shall be powered on and any new network drops in these network racks shall be patched over to the newly installed switch. Bids should supply all needed labor to install network switches and access points; in the event that an existing network rack cannot accommodate more switch equipment, the installation should include a network rack that meets CPSB standards. Access points shall be installed at designated locations and connected to the station side of the network drop. Site Walk-Throughs can be scheduled by contacting the CPSB Technology Department via the attached E-rate coordinator; school maps will be available. Network switches will be mounted in network racks, powered on and interconnected to the CPSB network. 3. Access points will be mounted on the ceiling of rooms, unless otherwise specified. Access points being installed in gyms or multi-purpose rooms will require the installer to provide extra protection of the access point from physical damage. 4. A site survey/walkthrough will be required to be completed with a member of the Calcasieu Parish School District s technology staff in order to confirm location of switches and access points prior to installation. 5. ers will bid to supply all needed labor to install network switches and access points; in the event that an existing network rack cannot accommodate more switch equipment the installer will provide a network rack that meets CPSB standards. All wall mounts and rack mounts shall be provided and labeled according to the connecting rack.

3 Notes 6. Winning installer must provide the district with documentation of all switch locations within each site and within each network rack. The winning installer must also provide the district with a documentation of access point locations within each site. Any vendor submitting proposals on this request should be aware of the follow stipulations: CPSB reserves the right to adjust quantities depending on bid results and the amount budgeted. CPSB reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFP, or to cancel this RFP if it is in the best interest of CPSB to do so. Engaging into any formal agreements is contingent upon the appropriation of funds by CPSB and the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD), and approval by the Calcasieu Parish School Board. CPSB reserves the right to amend this RFP by an addendum issued up to five business days prior to the date set for receipt of proposals. Addenda or amendments will be mailed or faxed to all vendors who have procured copies of the RFP. If revisions are of such a magnitude to warrant, in CPSB s opinion, the postponement of the date for receipt of proposals, an addendum will be issued announcing the new date. It is the vendors responsibility to notify the contact person of intent to bid so addendums can be distributed Proposals should use the district identifier throughout the submitted proposal and in all RFP correspondence. All proposals should be submitted as a digital copy using the Portable Document Format (PDF) and ed to dana.swift@cpsb.org to meet the RFP deadline and follow up with a mailed hard copy. The file size of the PDF should not exceed 5 MB, and the hard copy should be submitted with 8 ½ X 11 paper. This information must be included to avoid rejection of bid. Additional information can be included under separate cover or additional page. The following items needed be submitted/provided and numbered accordingly in your bid packet along with the bid pricing in table format as shown below: The service provider must provide/meet the following minimum requirements: 1. Provide documentation of three years experience in installation of data systems, including the installation, configuration and securing of wireless LANs 2. Provide a current Louisiana Electrical Contractor s license Submit license number with bid 3. Provide guarantee that on-site vendor support will be available within a twenty-four to (48) hour period 4. Provide proof of liability insurance and worker s compensation insurance 5. Provide references of three completed projects of similar size, time frame and complexity Include contact person s name, address, and telephone number 6. Provide a Service Provider Information Number (SPIN) and agree to receive a portion of the payment from the Schools and Libraries E-Rate Funding program if such funding is awarded 7. Provide information to show you have a minimum of three years experience in installation of data systems, including the installation, configuration and securing of wireless LANs 8.
