1. BROWSE AND EDIT SCL FILES EXPLORE Explore IEC Models by importing SCL files (.icd,.cid.,.scd). gooseair provides dedicated windows to efficiently present SCL object trees, Model Properties and initial values. Predefined Filter options ensure easy and intuitive ways of navigating through the SCL object models. CREATE OR MODIFY SCL MODELS Create new or modify existing IEDs SCL configuration files by changing or adding data set members, creating report goose or sampled values control blocks. Use these models for simulation, testing or troubleshooting purposes. SCL objects become available on the Ribbon menu only when allowed to be added. 2. CLIENT SERVICES DISCOVER IED MODELS & READ VALUES Using Client/Server MMS communication, connect to multiple IEDs simultaneously to discover their object models, configuration parameters or current values. You can perform auto read of all values at the same time, read entire LN or simply read individual values. MMS REPORTING Report Controller option will quickly allocate buffered and unbuffered report control blocks associated with IED models. From there, you can easily Configure, Initiate & Enable reports on remote IEDs. Received MMS Reports with their values will be displayed on specially designed presentation windows. 06 GridSoftware gooseair
MMS REPORTING Report Controller option will quickly allocate buffered and unbuffered report control blocks belonging to an IED model. From there, you can easily Configure, Initiate & Enable reports on remote IEDs. Received MMS Reports with their values will be displayed on specially designed presentation windows. WRITE VALUES & OPERATE CONTROLS Set writeable and configurable parameters or Operate controls of any types. gooseair will recognize control mode values and will auto adjust control screens to allow input of all required control parameters SIMULATIONS MMS SERVER Based on imported SCL files (.icd/.cid/.scd), gooseair will concurrently simulate up to 64 different MMS Server IEDs. IEDs created by gooseair SCL Builder, or the ones saved using connect & discovery features from previous live sessions, will also be simulated by gooseair MMS Server simulation services. Once in simulation mode, gooseair will provide means to allow Value Forcing or MMS Report triggering. GridSoftware gooseair 07
GOOSE SIMULATIONS Simulating of GOOSE definitions is extremely simplified. No need to browse & search through the model, as gooseair automatically groups all GOOSE Control Blocks and associated DataSets. Changing DataSet values is easy - windows are designed to read current or accept new values that will instantly trigger new GOOSE messages. 4. MONITORING FUNCTIONS GOOSE AND REPORT MONITOR Observe system GOOSE messages with GOOSE Monitor Windows designed to present all relevant information, values and time compared results. Filters and labels provided on these screens will simplify a search for relevant information, while Value Tabs will extract values from the GOOSE DataSet members for a quick access. The MMS Report monitoring windows will capture any Buffered or Unbuffered reports providing insights to triggers (cause of report transmissions) or inclusion bitstring (reported data) values. Spy tool will focus on changes of specific model values, while Event monitors will focus on displaying new values only. 08 GridSoftware gooseair
PACKET INSPECTOR Regardless of the type of captured and presented messages, gooseair s Packet Inspector will decode received packets in user understandable format. The original octet format of the messages will also be preserved and presented for data integrity purposes. The Packet Inspector window will simplify message troubleshooting to the point where you do not have to be a communication expert to understand content of the GOOSE Publisher/Subscriber or Client/Server MMS communication profiles. SUPPORT FOR PCAP FILE For those users relying on Wireshark, gooseair now provides support for.pcap files. You can use gooseair to record and save Ethernet traffic in industry well-known network monitoring format. Saved files can later be opened and analyzed using Wireshark tools. 5. PROCESS BUS SAMPLED VALUES (SV) SV MONITOR Attach gooseair to a process bus with a merging unit or any other device distributing SV streams, and monitor live SV traffic using table views or sinusoidal graph presentations. Record SV stream sequences and present them using graphical viewer. GridSoftware gooseair 09
SV GENERATOR AND STATE SEQUENCER Configure control block parameters of SV streams and define amplitudes and phase angles of currents and voltages. Use built in State Sequencer to define duration of SV stream sequences with different input and output parameters. The SV State Sequencer will accept triggers including system GOOSE messages to trigger a change of simulated sequences. Once defined & started, the Sequencer will start generating SV streams back to the Process Bus network. 10 GridSoftware gooseair
6. CUSTOM LOGIC FUNCTIONAL BLOCK DIAGRAM Use gooseair s Function Block Diagram editor to create custom logic and perform customized test setups. Functional block diagram is equipped with a large number of functions, timers, operators and operands allowing you to create logic of any complexity. The logic programs can be interconnected with your GOOSE publishing or subscribing messages. They can be saved and reused for different test purposes. Being event driven, the fast Logic Engine will execute programs below the time performances proposed by the IEC Standards. PROGRAM MONITOR The logic program editor, called Database Snapshot, will assist you in monitoring and analyzing interim or final results of your custom logic programs. With the Database snapshot, you can change program values, thus influencing the results - and get necessary confidence that your program behaves the way you designed it. GridSoftware gooseair 11
7. PRP DRIVER AND NETWORK REDUNDANCY ANALYZER (NRA) gooseair fully supports the IEC (Clause 4, Ed2) standards: parallel redundancy protocol (PRP). Built in kernel space, the PRP driver enables gooseair to act as a Dual Attached Node PRP (DANP) on PRP networks. Network Redundancy Analyzer (NRA) services, part of the gooseair core load, will perform monitoring and analyses of both PRP & HSR based communications, with optional ability to filter Supervision frames only. Simply connect gooseair to PRP or HSR networks, and NRA customized screens will present analyses of the redundancy packets for you. 8. NETWORK TOOLS NETWORK PERFORMANCE TESTING Performance of your distributed or networked solutions can largely be influenced by the design of the Network. Measurement of the network delays for Utility based Automation systems, something that traditionally has not been required, is now crucial in understanding whether the Network design, network configuration settings, or selected network equipment, serve your systems the way you expect. gooseair Network Tools (Sender/ Receiver) will calculate network delay time between any two points on your network, thus measure influence of the network on the performance of your critical applications. In these performance tests, gooseair will not use PING or similar test packet formats, but intended communication protocol profiles (i.e. GOOSE). 12 GridSoftware gooseair
TRAFFIC GENERATOR Testing your applications connected to a LAB test network will likely show better results comparing to results from the production network. In your LAB environment, the Switches are dealing with a low traffic volume, while in reality they have to process traffic with large volume of packets. gooseair Traffic Generator will enable you create increased traffic volumes, abnormal or even avalanche conditions. Error and Network Loss generators will further help you in generating erroneous traffic or traffic with intentional loses. Such conditions will allow you monitor behavior & performance of your application algorithms using various what if scenarios. GridSoftware gooseair 13
