Comprehension; Synthesis; Application Identify informal perspective techniques to create depth Define foreground, middle ground and background Differentiate between informal perspective and linear perspective Change a photograph of friends by changing the clothes to recognizable textures using Adobe Photoshop Transfer the people in the photograph to a creative background that uses informal perspective to show depth Unit/duration: Promote a Product-3D Style - 3 weeks How do slogs help advertisers promote their product? How do I construct a visually pleasing, 3-dimensional advertisement? Synthesis; Application; Evaluation Choose a recognizable product to promote Propose a theme to instructor for the design of the 3-dimensional product display Devise two slogs for the product and incorporate them into the layout/design Choose color combinations that work well with the product Construct a free-standing display that promotes a product Self-Assess project with written evaluation (pre and post) on their blog

Choose one food and one animal for subject matter for project Create thumbnail sketches of project ideas Decide which will be created with Adobe Photoshop and which will be handmade Choose appropriate text style for chosen subject matter Incorporate images into the text to help give visual meaning to the text Incorporate a background for each product that adds depth Display their computer generated project on their blog Unit/duration: Text Fits into Object s Shape - 1 week Synthesis; Application How can text be transformed into a shape to help give visual meaning? Choose subject matter that is not a food or an animal Create thumbnail sketches of project idea Decide if project will be computer generated or handmade Choose appropriate font for chosen subject matter Change the text by stretching and distorting so it fits into the shape of the chosen object Incorporate a background that adds depth Unit/duration: Send a Message with Text and Image Repetition - 3 weeks How can text and images work together to create a strong visual?

6 Synthesis; Evaluation; Application Choose a mood/feeling/action from a teacher generated list (ex: lonelinesss, adventure, fear, love, etc.) for their 12 page accordion style book Generate a list of subject matter that relate to chosen theme Decide which will be created with Adobe Photoshop and which will be handmade Choose appropriate text style for chosen subject matter for at least six of their pages Select a variety of text to include quotes, sayings, and personal thoughts/opinions Incorporate images into the text to help give visual meaning to the text Design pages that incorporate a variety of elements and principles of design Create a cover and author page for their book Print their pages and glue them onto their accordion books (12 pages total) Unit/duration: Label Design - 4 days How can text and images work together to enhance the look of a product and assist in its marketability?
