Waterproofing Removal: Remove existing concrete topping slabs and soil overburden. Remove existing sheet-applied waterproofing system.. oncrete repair: Once the existing overburden/topping slab and waterproofing has been removed, rchitect/ngineer to be contacted to observe conditions to determine what, if any, repairs to the existing reinforced deck are necessary.. Waterproofing Installation: lean and prepare existing concrete substrate per specifications to receive new hot fluid-applied waterproofing system. New system to include protection course and/or root barrier, where appropriate, and drainage mat.. Overburden and Paving Replacement: Remove existing soil overburden and concrete topping as necessary to execute repairs. Replace existing concrete with new concrete (per details and specifications). The contractor shall not unreasonably encumber site or plaza areas with materials or equipment. The materials and equipment shall be confined to the areas indicated in the contract documents or approved by the Owner. o not load structure with weight that will endanger the structure. ontractor shall assume full responsibility for the protection and safekeeping of products stored on premises. Move any stored material or products that interfere with operations of the Owner. Store material only in areas provided by the Owner. 0. Repair locations and approximate quantities are shown graphically for location purposes only and do not necessarily indicate exact repair boundaries or final quantities. The repair locations for each area will be verified by the ontractor based on the intent of the repairs. The extent of all repair areas is subject to final approval by the rchitect/ngineer. Unanticipated conditions encountered during the course of the work that require additional repairs shall be brought to the attention of the rchitect/ngineer. No additional repair work shall be performed unless approved in advance by the rchitect / ngineer or Owner's Representative.. The ontractor shall be solely responsible for all means and methods. Procedures shall be in accordance with applicable codes and standards. The ontractor shall make any inspections or analysis necessary to verify that existing building elements have adequate load capacity to support any required forces he/she chooses to impose on them.. ontractor shall provide all shoring, bracing, and sheeting required for safety and proper execution of the work.. ontractor is solely responsible for any damage to the building, equipment or adjacent property caused by the repair work. ny such damage shall be reported to the Owner and rchitect/ngineer prior to repairing the damage. ll damage to building, equipment or property must be repaired to the satisfaction of the Owner or replaced to match existing.. ontractor is solely responsible for all job safety during the repair work.. ontractor shall know and follow all precautions and safety procedures as normally used in the industry, and those procedures as instructed by the material manufacturer, and all local, state, and federal regulations, safety standards and codes. When a conflict exists, comply with the stricter requirement. The application requirements of OSH, onstruction Industry Standards (9 R 9/90, current edition), Washington,.. shall be used as a standard guideline.. ontractor shall supply the Owner with material safety data sheets (MSS) for each material/product that will be brought onto the job site and shall comply with the requirements of the OSH hazard communication standard.. The ontractor shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations applicable to dust and debris containment.. The ontractor will provide dumpsters and coordinate dumpster removal. 9. Take all necessary precautions to prevent fire during the construction. Provide adequate ventilation during the use of volatile or noxious materials. 0. Noise control: The contractor shall confine his hours of operation to those required by the Owner and local laws and ordinances. Noise levels shall be held to a minimum considering the nature of the work. isruptions to normal building operations shall be minimized.. Water control: The contractor shall not permit water to run uncontrolled off of his work or be carried airborne off the site or onto vehicles and persons occupying part of the site. To prevent this, suitable enclosures shall be provided if water or moisture exceed levels acceptable to the Owner.. Stormwater: The contractor is not to discharge any construction water, waste, or debris into the storm water system.. The contractor shall be responsible for acceptance and control of all flows including surface waters, storm sewer flows, and groundwater flows during construction.. The contractor is required to provide and maintain erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with the urban drainage and flood control district "Urband Storm rainage riteria Manual Volume " and the M standard plans of the olorado epartment of Transportation. The University may required the contractor to provide additional erosion control measures due to unforeseen erosion problems or if the measures do not function as intended.. Street lights requiring removal during construction shall be reset by contractor upon completion to existing condition.. The type, size, location and number of all known underground utilities in the area of construction have been shown per the best available utility records provide and are approximate only. The contractor shall contact the Utility Notification enter of olorado (UN ) a minimum of hours before putting a tool to the earth. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to verify the existence and location of all underground utilities along the route of work and to coordinate construction schedules with the utility owners and to schedule utility adjustments to eliminate conflict with progress of the work. The contractor shall note all utilities may not appear on these plans and that the potential conflict with utilities shall be considered in the preparation of any bids. The contractor shall be responsible for the protection of all utilities whether shown on the plans or not and shall hold the Owners and rchitect/ngineer harmless for damage arising from failure to adequately protect utilities.. The contractor shall maintain the water tightness of the building throughout the construction that is related to the demolition/repair process. Where removal of the existing roof is necessary to accomplish work, have materials and workmen ready to provide adequate and approved temporary covering of exposed areas.
