3 DR. LEN BOKSMAN - LONDON, CANADA SOLVING THE VARIABLES IN CROWN AND BRIDGE THAT COST YOU TIME AND MONEY (3.5 HOUR EVENING LECTURE) TUES, JAN SPOKANE, WA WED, JAN SEATTLE, WA WED, FEB AUSTIN, TX THUR, FEB SAN ANTONIO, TX In recent years crown and bridge materials have improved significantly, but paradoxically, remakes have also increased. This lecture looks at the many variables that may interact to force us to fit or reject a crown and bridge restoration, and suggests technique changes and clinical hints that will mitigate operatory time and increase productivity. We will look at hydrophilic impression materials overall, fast set impression materials, bite registrations, articulation and occlusion, dual-arch impressions, and the use of symbiotic systems, eliminating the negative effect of hemostatic agents, the creation of instant matrices, and tissue-healing temporaries. The difference between a passive and active impression Why alginates can no longer be used in crown and bridge Plastic dual-arch impression trays with flexible impression materials create too much variability in your final result A bite registration after the crown and bridge procedure is completed may be the worst thing you do How to minimize the effects of hemostatic agents on the final impression, eliminate the black scuzz, and eliminate the potential for bond failure Marginal preparation detail accuracy is still a challenge to many but we can increase accuracy by maximizing flow and adaptation factors A 30-second template material is a reality, whether a tooth is missing or not The interplay between temporization and temporary cement can create tissue health, controlling the environment facilitating cementation and bonding ABOUT DR. This program will present systems for the fabrication of temporary crown, bridge, and veneer restorations that lead to increased productivity, and time saving procedures that provide predictable clinical results. What factors contribute to an inaccurate impression and how to prevent them Bite Registrations, how they can be problematic for both lab and clinicians How to evaluate the accuracy and quality of your impressions Predictable technique for fabrication of full-coverage temporaries Effortless and aesthetic anterior veneer temporary Discuss the challenges with current provisional techniques Also reviewed: And you thought it was the lab!
