3 Workshop Details Workshop Title The Fundamental Concepts for Mastering Esthetic Challenges Dr. Douglas Terry October 26, 2015 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm SR 2000 Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, Building 12 This is a full day hands-on workshop to change the game for cosmetic dentists, general dentists, prosthodontists, periodontists, technicians and auxiliaries to simplify the veneering process in direct and indirect bonding of multiple anterior composite restorations using a novel direct injection technique that is modified and developed by Dr. Terry and the GC corporation. This workshop will illustrate a predictable and precise method for developing anterior composite veneers. It will explain and reveal the significance of color mixing for creating polychromatic lifelike restorations. The participants will appreciate the myriad of applications of the injectable technique and how an improved biomaterial and this revolutionary technique can enhance patient communication and practice of dentistry. Techniques will include ceramic and composite materials. Course requirements : participants should bring their own enhanced vision (loupes). 4 Workshop Details Workshop Title Modern Root Canal Therapy, From Access to Instrumentation and Obturation Dr. Allen Ali Nasseh October 26, 2015 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm SR 1500 Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, Building 12 This is a full day hands-on workshop. This lecture and hands on participation summarizes all the clinical facets of non-surgical root canal therapy using modern concepts in adequate pulpal anesthesia, access preparation, working length determination, rotary canal instrumentation, irrigation, and obturation of the root canal using modern materials and techniques. This is a very clinical program with the aim of sharing techniques, tips, and tricks to immediately help the practitioner apply this knowledge clinically to improve the quality and efficiency of their care in a painless manner for their patients. 3

5 Workshop Details Workshop Title Direct Aesthetic Provisional Application Designing in the Mouth Dr. Michael Apa October 31, 2015 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm SR 2000 Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, Building 12 This is a full day hands-on workshop. The communication between ceramist, dentist and patient is the easiest link to aesthetic failures and success. In order to achieve the best possible result, a clear vision between all person s is necessary. Traditionally, diagnostic wax-ups and detailed lab scripts have been utilized, which we have found lacks aesthetic accuracy. In this course, we will go over alternative methods of communication to ensure success. Working off of facial landmarks rather than landmarks of just the smile help the practitioner and ceramist be more accurate and create smiles that truly disappear when placed into the mouth. In addition, we will use this design to aid in conservative preparation. We will talk about how to utilize this to create provisional as our form of communication. Discussions of addition veneers and communicated vertical dimension will also be touched upon. Learning objectives Facial landmarks dictating tooth position. Create provisionals chairside to accurately communicate aesthetic outcome. Treatment planning for addition veneers. Alternative methods for communicating and verifying. 4

9 Course Details Course Title Biomechanics Related to Rehabilitation of Degenerated Dentitions Prof. Birte Melsen October 29, 2015 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm SR 800 Jeddah Hilton Hotel, Hilton Hall, Second Floor This is a full day course composed of lectures. Skeletal anchorage has been dominating orthodontics the last decennia. The indication has often been to become independent of patient compliance. This should, however, not be the only indication. In the present course you will learn that a TAD is not just a TAD. The ability to be used for both direct and indirect anchorage by the bracket-like head allows not only for the space closure but also as anchorage for tooth movements which would be impossible with conventional anchorage. The used skeletal anchorage opens for a new role of the orthodontist in relation to colleagues from other specialties. Tooth movement can generate bone if roots are moved before crowns. TADs can be applied both as anchorage for the displacement of the teeth into atrophic alveolar processes as for the maintenance and increase in density of areas later meant for dental implants. The course will focus on the biomechanical knowledge (Treatment planning) and the manual operation (Hands on) necessary for the optimal use of skeletal anchorage. 8
