17 THE NEW VILLA MARIA With its investment programme, Villa Maria has embarked on an exceptional plan of action that has seen the restructuring and extension of the current hospital complex, with a major regeneration of its functions, technologies and image. The aim is to give the centre of the city of Rimini access to a centre for surgical procedures and physical rehabilitation offering the highest possible levels of technology and safety, capable of providing a wide range of medical treatments, starting in particular from its specific specializations: Orthopaedics, Spinal Surgery, Proctological Surgery, Oculistics, General Surgery and Phlebological Surgery. All patient admission and registration areas are also due to be renovated and reorganized, increasing from the present 280 m 2 to about 530 m 2, with the use of material, colours, lighting systems and signage guaranteeing a bright and friendly atmosphere and easy orientation around the complex. The restructuring and extension project involves an overall surface area of 6300 m 2, of which 3600 m 2 are for extensions (2600 m 2 for technical facilities and circulation, and 1000 m 2 for hygiene spaces) and 2700 m 2 are restructurings. The overall surface area is being increased from about 6300 m 2 to about 10,000 m 2. All patient admission and registration areas are due to be renovated and reorganized, increasing from the present 280 m 2 to about 530 m 2, with the use of material, colours, lighting systems and signage guaranteeing a bright and friendly atmosphere and easy orientation around the complex. Significant spaces are also dedicated to staff, and in particular for changing facilities on the basement floor, to be increased from the current

18 72 m 2 to about 180 m 2. Easier access will be ensured by an increase of about 700 m 2 in parking areas, using the new space of 1200 m 2 on Viale Matteotti, directly owned by Villa Maria.

19 WHERE WE ARE AND HOW TO REACH US BY AIR. Fly to Rimini's "Federico Fellini" International Airport. Taxi and bus services are available from the airport forecourt. Villa Maria is about 5 km away. BY ROAD. Arriving in Rimini from the south, follow the signs for Rimini "Infermi" Hospital (Via Settembrini) and then for the city centre. Villa Maria is between Borgo San Giuliano, the Tiberius Bridge and the Harbour Channel. On reaching the edge of the city centre, continue along Viale Roma and Via Dei Mille. FROM THE MOTORWAY. Take the Rimini South exit and then follow the signs for Rimini. Continue straight on, in the direction of the signs for the station and the city centre. Follow Viale Repubblica, Via C.A. Dalla Chiesa and Via Fada, and keep straight on at the roundabout. After about 100 metres there is a compulsory left turn into Via Settembrini. Follow this towards Viale Roma and Via Dei Mille, and after crossing the Ponte dei Mille bridge over the Harbour Channel, Villa Maria is in the second street on the left.
