1 Columbia College (Sonora) Yosemite Community College District Housing consists of 48 apartments in four, three-story buildings, for a total of 105 students. Managed by California Student Housing, LLC. Has had housing since 1986 Sonora population: 4,808 (2013) An in-house security officer and a camera surveillance system provide security. Most cases involve alcohol and drugs Decreases seen as a result of downturn in enrollment. Current occupancy at around 60 to 75 percent. Students are not required to purchase a meal plan. Satellite television No impact.
2 Cerro Coso Community College (Mammoth Lakes) Kern Community College District Student apartments adjacent to the Eastern Sierra College Center's Mammoth Lakes campus are available for single or double occupancy. The Mammoth Lakes Foundation manages the buildings. Has had housing since 2009 Mammoth Lakes population: 8,073 (2013) Access card security system and security monitors throughout the building. Behavioral issues comprise most of the discipline cases. Housing director noted problems with drinking, smoking cigarettes and marijuana, and noise violations Enrollment decreases have negatively impacted occupancy rates. No meal plan required or offered; however, students are provided one free meal per week. Exercise/fitness room Snowboard/ski tuning room Snowboard/ski locker in each room Community room with fireplace Jumbo flat screen TV with cable Pool table Outdoor courtyard with grills, bonfire pit and bocce court No impact.
3 Feather River College (Quincy) Feather River Community College District The Feather River College Residence Hall (FRCRH) is owned and operated by Feather River College and the Feather River College Foundation. The Feather River College residence halls consist of 160 beds located throughout five buildings; and feature two types of units. The first type includes one bedroom shared by two students. The second type houses four residents with two students in each room. Has had housing since???? Quincy population: 1,728 (2010) Secure card access readers, camera monitoring system, and 24-hour Public Safety surveillance around the residence halls Students are not required to purchase a meal plan as one is not available. 5 College of the Redwoods (Eureka) Redwoods Community College District The students who choose the halls each year occupy two newly-renovated buildings, Mendocino Hall and Del Norte Hall. Mendocino is more of an apartment style, with room doors opening to the outside, while Del Norte's room doors lead to an enclosed hallway. Has had housing for more than four decades. Population: 26,913 (2013) No significant issues. Rooms are coded to enter. Alcohol and drug issues Usually full by start of semester, with some students dropping off in spring. Students living in the hall must purchase a meal plan. Full gym Study areas Game room No impact.
6 Reedley College (Reedley) State Center Community College District The residence hall facility provides housing for 100 men and 40 women, with separate wings for both. Has had housing since???? Reedley population: 25,010 (2013) Students living in the hall must purchase a meal plan. Common recreation room Full kitchen for student use
7 Shasta College (Redding) Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Community College District Shasta College maintains two dormitories, one for 63 women and one for 63 men. Has had housing since 1967 Redding population: 91,119 (2013) All residents are issued a traditional key for their room door and a key card for the exterior door to their dormitory. Staff on hand 24/7; attempting to get round-the-clock coverage from public safety. Most involve alcohol and drugs. Above average number of incidents this year. Not an issue. Fall usually sees 12 males on waiting list. Students living in the residence hall are not required to purchase a meal plan. Recreation room Patio area Common kitchen Study lounge No impact
8 Sierra College (Rocklin) Sierra Joint Community College District One co-ed residence hall, a two-story facility that has suite-style rooms. All rooms are double occupancy Each room holds two residents, with a bathroom facility shared between every two rooms. Has had housing since???? Rocklin population: 59,738 (2013) Each residence hall has a computerized access system that controls all exterior doors. Residents are issued an access key for admittance to the building as well as a key to their room. Campus Officers patrol the parking lot, exterior building areas and grounds, and community areas each evening. Students living in the residence hall must purchase a meal plan. 9 College of the Siskiyous (Weed) Siskiyou Joint Community College District The Lodges at College of the Siskiyous are maintained as a community living environment. There are two buildings, Juniper Hall and Ponderosa Hall, which provide space for 136 residents. The two-story buildings each have four wings with a common bathroom facility on each wing. Rooms are double occupancy. The buildings are co-ed, with men and women on separate wings. Has had housing since 1961 Weed population: 2,912 (2013) No significant issues other than petty theft because students left doors open. Surveillance cameras in use.
