1 American Business & Technology University currently provides for transfer credit from Career Academy courses completed within the last three years by challenge exam. A student may not transfer more than 25% of total program credits by challenge exams. If the AAS program has a corresponding TD or Certificate program, credits are transferable into those programs also; however, transfer credits are only eligible for one program. Credit hours are based on Career Academy video hours utilizing a conversion formula of 45 video hours equals one (1) credit hour (Career Academy courses are viewed as lab courses without any homework requirement). 5 Industry Certification Transfer Credit ABTU will award transfer credit for any Industry Certification earned within the last three years that corresponds to an ABTU program. If ABTU has an academic course that provides for the industry certification, credit will be awarded in the same amount as granted by the academic course and credit will be given for the corresponding academic courses(s). If ABTU does not have a corresponding academic course, possible elective credit is granted, normally three (3) credit hours per certification, for any appropriate ABTU program. Students may submit their Industry Certifications to ABTU along with their program choice to determine what credit is available.
