1 Introduction The Ministerial Vocation Committee and the Office of the Stated Clerk of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church are responsible for denominational vocational services. As part of the process of "matching" ministers and congregations, the Office of the Stated Clerk provides resources and advice to both pastors and congregational search committees. To that end, we ask congregations and ministers to complete information forms as an introduction to each other, and a first step in the process of calling a minister for a congregation. For both the individual pastor and the congregation, this is an opportunity for self-study and for evaluation of current ministry and goals. This calls for honesty, effort, and commitment to open communication. The Church Information Form presents the local congregation's history, challenges, and goals. It is our hope that this will be of help in facilitating the search process, assisting the church in focusing on future directions, and pastors in gaining some sense of the nature and uniqueness of this congregation. 8 Church Characteristics- continued 15. In what ways does your church participate in ecumenical activities? VBS-for several years prior to 2014, our church lead a county-wide VBS with up to 15 local county churches involved, up to 250 children each day. A Few Good Men-A collection of Christmas music by local men of several different churches, Greenbriar has hosted this event for ten years, it has become one of the kickoffs to the Christmas season in the area. Archery-Greenbriar has joined with several churches and schools in the area to provide this activity for children of all ages, it is funded by the UNITE program, which is an anti-drug campaign. Chad's Hope-An addiction rehab center for men in Clay County. Our men's group has worked with this program for several years, providing support, visiting and holding worship services with the residents. Women's Group-Our women's group participates in several area programs such as abuse centers, pregnancy center. Hospice center, and Christian educational programs in conjunction with women from other area churches. Red Door Ministry-Our church collects and provides household items to families and individuals who have suffered fires or misfortune and are in need of basic household items such as furniture, kitchen supplies, bedding, dishes, ect. We work with local social services, housing for the elderly and other programs who offer referrals. Backpack Program-Our church provides the drop point for supplies being provided to local resource centers in county schools. These backpacks are filled with food and sent home with children in need of proper nutrition and wouldn't otherwise receive it. Clay County Ministerial Association Breakfast-Most former pastors and several members of the church attend this event. Clay County Senior Breakfast-We assist with the services provided to high school seniors at this annual event. Heart and Soul Life Center-This program provides needed education, materials, supplies, resources for public assistance, adoption services and support for unwed mothers of all ages from the local area. We donate financially each month as part of our mission outreach and various Sunday School classes and the Women's group collect supplies to donate throughout the year. Clay County Athletic Club-This athletic organization originated by members of Greenbriar and maintains an office on the grounds, for meetings, records, ect. Provides needed funding for all student activities from academics to athletics. Gideons International-Greenbriar supports the Gideons with annual donations and hosts Gideon speakers every year. Manchester Public Bible Reading-This year. beginning on New Year's Eve, local government and churches joined together to sponsor the first ever pub I ic bible reading. This historical event was held in the town square. ran around the clock with 240 volunteer readers each reading a 20 minute passage from Genesis to Revelation until the entire bible was read publicly. Several members of Greenbriar read passages. Each reader signed their name to their passage and the bible was donated to the Clay County Historical Society. 16. Describe the strengths of your congregation: Sense of Family-We love each other and support each other in every way. Physical Work-Our members will do the manual labor as well as being supportive of any and all projects. Helping those in need-our church is always willing and able to aid in anyway. We've sent groups to aid in relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina, Mid-Western tornado relief, local tornado relief East Bernstadt, Ky, Haiti earthquake relief and have sent donated items to many different disaster relief efforts 8

9 across the country. The Red Door ministry of the church often work with the elderly, providing housing set up to help with independent living. We work well together-in any situation or need, we come together as a family to work for the common goal. Musically Talented-Among our members are many very talented singers, musicians and leaders. 17. New community building was completed in B. What has been the most interesting and challenging event in the life of your church in the last three years? The construction and completion of the new community building. When construction began, we were thriving and growing as a congregation. During the final stages of construction, we've experienced a significant decline in attendance. The challenge of finding a leader who shares the vision of the congregation for the ministry possibilities provided by having the new building. Finding a leader with the willingness to do so. 12
