Generation V, update's new product portfolio based on the multi-tenancy-enabled marketing.manager 5.0 software, takes the multi-channel approach and is geared towards user mobility. The marketing.manager update.win, update.web and update.pda products set new standards. The combination of Generation V with update.prospectminer means all aspects of CRM are covered. All products can be implemented quickly and integrated easily into existing system environments. They are intuitive, customisable and ensure a quick Return on Investment. update was founded in Vienna in Today, the company is represented in Western, Central and Eastern Europe and the USA and is listed on the Frankfurt Neuer Markt. The two company founders, Gilbert Hödl and Arno Huber, each hold around 9 percent directly or indirectly. For further information visit the homepage at 7. update software AG s background The company was founded in Vienna by Gilbert Hödl and Arno Huber in 1988 under the name Marketing Informationssysteme Gesellschaft m.b.h. From the very beginning, the company was focused on developing and marketing software designed to manage sales and marketing processes. The first foreign offices were established in Germany and Switzerland in Four years later, the company had a pan-european network of offices is regarded as a milestone in the company s history. For the first time, the software was available for Microsoft Windows. The company became an Aktiengesellschaft (public limited company) in Renowned foreign venture capitalists invested in the company. In 1999, the company changed its name to update software AG and April 2000 witnessed the company s flotation. update is listed on the Frankfurt Neuer Markt. 2001: Generation V Internet and Mobile Business; the new product portfolio based on the multi-tenancy-enabled marketing.manager 5.0 software is launched. 8 10. update s products update s software solutions provide a platform for handling all aspects of Customer Relationship Management: Part of the Generation V product range, marketing.manager is the flexible standard software solution designed to support sales and marketing activities, such as customer data management, contact and sales management and campaign management. Generation V, update's new product portfolio based on the multi-tenancy-enabled marketing.manager 5.0 software, takes the multi-channel approach and is geared towards user mobility. The marketing.manager update.win, update.web and update.pda products set new standards. Multi-tenancy and the implementation of Application Service Providing (ASP) together with the multi-channel approach are key enhancements to the extensive marketing.manager product family. update.analytical CRM allows CRM databases to be analysed, providing a solid basis for management decisions as well as operative and strategic planning. All products can be integrated quickly and easily with existing systems and can be implemented on a modular basis, depending on specific requirements Generation V - the CRM solution from update Our marketing.manager -based product suite has been successfully implemented in many different sectors. The software is available in standard vertical versions (e.g. for the consumer goods industry, financial services sector, pharmaceuticals sector, telecommunications sector) boasting a number of core functions: order processing, campaign management, opportunity management, document management, workflow management, decision support, interactive web support, call centre integration, contact management, sales management, and telemarketing. Whatever means are used to implement this functionality (Windows applications, , internet or PDA technology), marketing.manager is capable of integrating every aspect efficiently on one platform. CRM data can be accessed using any of the following components: update.win, the classic Client for Microsoft Windows operating systems. update.web allows the functionality of marketing.manager to be accessed using a Web browser, enabling customers to post individual requests and encouraging customer interaction, based on which customer behaviour can be easily analysed. update.pda allows marketing.manager data to be accessed offline on your PDA at any time, from anywhere. update.phone is an intelligent link between telephone and computer, representing an ideal solution for telemarketing and Call Centre applications. update.portal is the developer package which allows marketing.manager to be integrated with an enterprise portal. update.xml allows marketing.manager to exchange data with other applications online via XML. A standard interface to SAP R3 already exists. update.analytical crm : collaboration between Cognos and update and its marketing.manager product allows CRM data to be precisely analysed. Growth rates equal to or far better than those brought by other systems costing two to three times more can be achieved. This increase in productivity requires considerably less effort from employees working with the system in the front office arena. Sales reps and other front office-based employees are saved a considerable amount of time and effort inputting data as more information can be processed by marketing.manager and other systems with which it integrates, generally ERP systems and other back office applications.
11 10.3. update.prospectminer : update.prospectminer is a web-mining software solution which enables users to search for business information on the internet. Conventional search engines deliver results which, in terms of quality, simply do not compare. The software is ideal for sales support and can be used to generate new contacts. Information on potential customers or partners can be found on the internet at a low cost-per-lead ratio, and the results evaluated according to relevance and qualitative criteria. Qualification and search criteria can be continually refined in order to exploit up and cross-selling potential. update.prospectminer can also be used to update data or to search for sector-specific information. The search results are turned into customer profiles which can then be placed on the internet or Intranet in HTML format, sent by or imported directly into a CRM solution such as update s marketing.manager. Alternatively, data can be exported to an ASCII file (text file) and imported into sales and marketing databases or spreadsheets.
