2 Block and file explained Block explained IP-SAN, also known as Internet Small Computer System Interface (iscsi), is offered by utilising the two main protocols SCSI and TCP/IP to deliver limitless connectivity over distance while minimising performance loss. This type of storage is provided by using iscsi in target mode and is available to all client systems using iscsi in initiator mode. Through iscsi interface, clients can use portions of the target storage which presents block-based storage as locally native hard drives. Remote Management with KVM-Over-LAN is provided as standard on all storage nodes using Supermicro s intelligent management module that monitors onboard instruments such as temperature sensors, power status, voltage and fan speeds. It also includes remote access to the BIOS configuration and operating system that is CPU independent.
