The School of Public Service and Health houses several of the university s flagship programs; namely emergency and disaster management, criminal justice, homeland security, and fire science management. It is also the home of up-and-coming programs in security management, legal studies, and public health. Combining top academic credentials with practical expertise, our faculty includes practicing attorneys, public health professionals, emergency managers, criminal justice professionals, and security managers as well as international and national governmental and military consultants and practitioners. Our programs, in many cases, are recognized in their industries. For example, our Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Mr. Benjamin has managed IT education and provided consulting solutions for public and private sector clients such as the White House; the U.S. Senate; the FAA; and the Departments of Defense, Education, and Treasury. Professor Lawrence is a retired naval aviator with 25 years of service including several deployments. She also served as NASA s Director of Operations at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia. Professor Lawrence received her B.S. in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and her M.S. in Ocean Engineering from MIT and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI).
