In 1965 they moved to Manawatu and in 1969 they shifted to Stoney Creek Road and established the existing depot. Currently the company employs around 75 staff who service our rural and urban client base using an equipment fleet valued in excess of $2.5m. The depot is 7.6 km from the centre of town, well located to service our client base. Since the company started, it has continued to grow, develop, diversify and specialise. Kevin Blackley is now the Managing Director and he leads the business into the future. 3 LAND DRAINAGE» DRAINAGE SURVEY BY RTK GPS COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN MATERIAL SUPPLY INSTALLATION AS-BUILT» OPEN DRAINS» MOLE DRAINING» DRAINAGE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE NO OTHER LOCAL CONTRACTOR HAS THE EXPERIENCE THAT BLACKLEY CONSTRUCTION DOES We use more than 50 years experience in the rural land drainage industry and combine this with the latest RTK GPS surveying equipment & design software to provide our clients with a total design build service. Our two drainage teams install up 150,000 metres of pipe per year. With a range of different size chain trenchers and excavators, no job is too big or too small. From flat land to hill country to sports fields and in almost any ground conditions ranging from sand to rock, we have the right skills, experience and equipment to cater for your requirements. Utilising specialist equipment we can offer different backfill options such as turf or washed stone. We design and build to your requirements. A GPS map of the drainage installation is supplied. This provides a record of this valuable buried asset and helps easily locate the pipe for system extensions and maintenance. Blackley also keeps a record of the install on file. We also offer a full range of drainage maintenance services including technical advice, open drain cleaning and mole ploughing.

4 EFFLUENT PONDS» EFFLUENT SYSTEMS» POND DESIGN» POND CONSTRUCTION» SOLIDS SEPARATION Regional Council requirements around nutrient management have seen Blackley Construction become involved in the design and construction of a number of compliant effluent ponds. We use our practical earthmoving skills and engineering expertise to find practical, workable and economic solutions for our clients. GPS equipment is used to survey the site and earthworks design software is used to prepare the best pond solution for your site. We have experience in constructing ponds with synthetic liners as well as constructing in-situ clay ponds. Strict testing is carried out on both types to ensure the final product meets or exceeds Council leakage rate requirements. As part of building a pond there is usually some work needed around solids separation, we can advise you on the best fit for your existing system. Our staff have successfully completed the Massey University Farm Dairy Effluent: System Design and Management course. The staff are able to advise on pond positioning and the pro s and con s of the different liner types.

5 IRRIGATION» PIPE LAYING» FITTING INSTALLATION Blackley Construction Ltd has undertaken a number of irrigation projects for clients ranging from private land owners through to sports fields and large corporates such as the Fonterra Co-operative Group. These projects have included both fixed in-ground complete irrigation systems through to pipework for traveling and pivot irrigators. With experienced pipe-layers and appropriate equipment for the excavation of the pipe trenches, we work closely with the system designers and material suppliers to ensure that all best practices are followed. We have installed over 150,000m of pressure pipe for irrigation systems using Rubber Ring Joint PVC, Solvent Cement PVC and Polyethylene Pipe. FARM RACES» DESIGN» CONSTRUCTION» MAINTENANCE Blackley Construction undertakes construction and maintenance of cow races. With our own truck and trailers, graders and rollers we have the ability to build races of any length and with any material.

We have also completed foundation work for cow sheds and feed pads. Blackley Construction primarily use Hynds to design and build structures as the factory is located in Palmerston North. Getting the foundations right is the key to long lasting quality installations.

All of this work has contributed to the experience gained by the company, which allows us to offer solutions to individual problems. Both of these technologies have application in the rural market such as installing services under a road without excavation. Blackley Civil also have qualified Drain layers and Pipe layers for special pipes and services.
