If used correctly, they can significantly improve the workflow and final outcome of dental treatment, but if used improperly, they can be less predictable than the more traditional step-by-step approach we have used for years. Matt looks forward to sharing ideas of how he is integrating the new digital design dental tools into proven restorative techniques and developing new ideas that take advantage of this amazing technology.

Every dental publication seemed oblivious to removable prosthetics. Today, it seems every page has to do with some kind of prosthetic device, and yet there are few highly skilled technicians to fill the demand. Demographics and economics point to increasing volume of this work. The industry understands something must be done. Let s take a look at digital dentures! There are 9 companies offering or will soon offer digital solutions. Who, why, and how does it benefit me, my patient, and the lab? We will look at technology from the manufacturer s point of view, teeth, records and techniques. 1.5 hours Scientific Credit Sponsored by Heraeus Kulzer Understanding the World of Initial Ceramics Michael Cumbie, CDT This comprehensive lecture will cover all components of the GC Initial Ceramic Line. Attendees will learn how each powder is designed to be used as well as alternative uses for each powder to create desired effects. Layering techniques and strategies will be illustrated and discussed so that the ceramist will learn how to create consistent, life-like porcelain restorations. Additional topics to be discussed include:
3 Controlling value and translucency Framework design Surface Texture IQ Lustre Paste NF color control 1.5 hours Scientific Credit Sponsored by GC America 9:30 a.m. 9:45 a.m. Break 9:45 a.m. 11:00 a.m. CHOOSE ONE: Sintering, Sintering Furnaces & the Infinity ZR Craig Pickett, CDT Now that you have embraced Digital technology, Zirconia plays an important role in your business. Sintering Zirconia materials and the Sintering furnaces used to seem to be another source of confusion for dental technicians. This course will cover some of the research on sintering parameters, and several of the competitive ovens with a focus on the Infinity ZR furnace from Whip Mix Corporation hours Scientific Credit Sponsored by Whip Mix Show Me the Money Dena & Dennis Lanier, CDT Dena and Dennis Lanier, CDT will be teaching this informative course on how to increase your sales through marketing with many different formats. The goal in this presentation is to have everyone that attends be able to capture as many new accounts as they want. After attending this program you will be able to return to your business on Monday, with an 8 week program that will be a step by step guide on what to do. So come have some fun and make some Money hours Professional Development Credit Sponsored by MADTS 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Trade Show, Table Clinics, and Lunch 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. CHOOSE ONE: Case Design for Removable Prosthetics Choosing Predictable Attachment Solutions for Implant Overdentures James T. Ellison, CDT Recent studies indicate that the implant supported overdenture is the fastest growing area of dentistry and provides the greatest potential for further growth. Choosing the best attachment for a particular case design can be confusing, but it doesn t have to be. Seven simple questions are all you have to answer to identify the best attachment for any removable prosthesis.
4 Bar splinting of implants is popular; however this method is often complicated, expensive, and time consuming. Freestanding abutments screwed into traditional implants have become the most popular way to retain an overdenture. However most overdenture abutment systems direct too much occlusal load to the implants and they cannot adequately deal with misaligned implants. Answers and alternative solutions will be presented. Educational Objectives: How to choose the best attachment for any patient needing a partial or overdenture Preparation of the prosthesis for laboratory processing Learn the advantages of resilient attachments for removable prosthetics 2 hours Scientific Credit Sponsored by Sterngold Dental The New Landscape of Digital Dental Products Marlin Gohn, CDT & Michael Clark This will be a two-part lecture. This first portion will review the full suite of digital technologies offered by Argen Digital and benefits to the lab and dentist. The second portion will include Transitionally Shaded Zirconia: Prep Your Zirconia for Better Esthetics in 30 Seconds. Part 1 - Digital A to Z: Bring All Your Product Offerings into the Digital Workflow Maximize your labs capacity by bringing all aspects of your products offering into the digital workflow. From scan to restoration, Argen Digital can support your lab with products ranging from Digital models, High Noble SLM copings, transitionally shaded milled Zirconia, Digital Captek and many more. Part 2 - Transitioning Shaded Zirconia: Prep Your Zirconia for Better Esthetics in 30 Seconds Learn how adding transitional shading to your Zirconia units will help you achieve the most natural looking restorations. A quick, 30-second step in your finishing techniques will result in the most beautiful, life-like esthetics. 2 hours Scientific Credit Sponsored by Argen Corporation 4:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. CHOOSE ONE: State & Federal Updates Bennett Napier, CAE Part I will focus on the laws and rules governing dental laboratories in state dental practice acts. These requirements address registration; material disclosure, and point of origin disclosure, chairside services. Part II will focus on U.S. FDA quality system regulations. 1 hour Regulatory Standards Credit Sponsored by NADL Implant Abutment Design for the Esthetic Zone Felix Pages, CDT Implant abutment design plays a major role in maintaining proper pink esthetics. Many factors such as tissue Biotype, distance between implant placement and depth of implant placement play a considerable part in determining the abutment design. Clinical and laboratory protocols will be explained in detail to improve long term clinical success of the restorations.
5 1 hour Scientific Credit Sponsored by Straumann
