1 INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES CALLED FOR COUNSELLING FOR ADMISSION TO PH.D. 2 The must appear in person at the time of counseling. In case a candidate is not in the position to present himself / herself, an authorized representative can attend the counseling on production of original certificates and authorization letter as Annexure-VI of Information Bulletin duly attested by the competent authority. The must report for counseling at 9.30 A.M. in N.N. Dastur Auditorium, NDRI, Karnal and mark attendance. Those reporting late will have to register arrival time as late entry in the attendance register and will be considered for counseling as per latest situation of seats available at that time. The seats already filled up will not be disturbed in such situation. The appearing in counseling must bring the following: All original certificates with mark sheets related to class 10 th onwards, SC/ST/PH/UPS/OBC category certificates (Annexure VII & VIII) as published in Information Bulletin. In case of, whose final result for Master s degree is not declared, they may bring the mark sheets of first year to confirm their eligibility. Immediately on offer of admission will be required to deposit part Admission Fee (non-refundable) of Rs.5000/- at the time of counseling to Cashier, NDRI, Karnal. The balance amount of fee would have to be deposited by the candidate to the university on the date of registration as prescribed by the university. The SC/ST who do not wish to take admission in their respective reserve category may opt for counseling with General category. Mere reporting for the counseling on this date does not necessarily guarantee the admission. In case the seats are exhausted before all the candidate called for personal appearance are covered, the allotment will be stopped and the Institute will not be responsible for the non-availability of seats and non-allotment to the rest of the on this account. In-service Candidates: The candidate must be fully sponsored by his/her employer. Admission shall only be granted on submitting the sponsoring certificate for the employer.

3 The following will be the mode of counseling for admission of in Ph.D. programmes for the session The will be called for counseling on a given date & reporting time. The will mark their attendance on arrival and will be considered for counseling. Those reporting late will have to register arrival time as late entry in the attendance register and will be considered for counseling as per latest situation of seats available at that time. The seats already filled up will not be disturbed in such situation. 2. The belonging to PH category will be called first and offered seat against the category to which they belong. The seats for PH category are 3% of overall seats in Doctoral Degree and will be filled within the overall number of total seats in each programme. If the number of PH available is more than the number of reserved seats for PH category then 1) the admission will be restricted to one seat per group and 2) priority will be decided based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination as merit rank of different groups/disciplines can not be used for deciding inter-group/interdisciplinary merit of. 3. The belonging to Under Privileged States (UPS) not having any State Agricultural/Veterinary University, will be called after the counselling of belonging to PH category and offered seat against the category (i.e. SC/ST/OBC/Gen) to which they belong in the relevant programme. The seats for UPS category are 2% of overall seats in the programmes. 4. If the number of UPS available is more than the number of reserved seats for UPS then 1) the admission will be restricted to one seat per group and 2) priority will be decided based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination as merit rank of different disciplines can not be used for deciding inter-group merit of. 5. The belonging to other reserved categories will be called in order of ST, SC and OBC after the admission of PH and UPS is over. The seats in SC and ST categories are interchangeable and in case of SC/ST categories are not available, the seats thus remaining vacant will be filled from general category. Similarly, if the from OBC category are not available, the same will be filled from general category. 6. The general category will be called after the counselling of of above categories is over. The reserved seats left vacant, if any and the vacant seats for unreserved category will be filled-up from the general category in the order of merit.
