1 Spiritual Uplifts January 2015 Happy New Year! The year 2015 adds up to the number eight. The number eight is for success. For everyone that clears out last year s negativity this is supposed to be a good year for you. This is the time where we make the traditional promises to ourselves called New Years Resolutions. Be reasonable on your choices for resolutions. Make sure they re doable. This is going to be a great year for Spiritual Uplifts. We have all new classes coming up. I have some new teachers, events, and more healing classes coming up. We are even creating field trips. I look forward to seeing everyone for the new year. Moon : January During the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January s full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Some called it the Full Snow Moon, but most tribes applied that name to the next Moon. 3 Message from Lynn Spiritual Journey Happy new year! This is the year of success for everyone. We clear out all of negativity in 2014 and now 2015 is supposed to be a better year for everyone. I ve been getting a lot of questions on how people should search for their spiritual teacher. I believe if the energy feels right than you know that s who you need to learn from. Make sure your teacher serves you best interest. Pay attention to their behavior. Do you feel like they are competing with you? Would your teacher be genuinely pleased if you surpass his or her knowledge. Is your teacher really open to your ideas and allowing you to think for yourself? There are a lot of spiritual teachers out there on facebook, meetup, online, etc. Look for their strengths. It`s not about teaching you from a book. Because to be honest, anyone these days can write a book. Writing a book doesn't make someone an expert in spirituality. People still have it instilled in them that if it s in a book than it has to be true. I feel this theory comes from people who at one time strongly believed in the bible. Only they are using other books to confirm their beliefs. Don t get me wrong, I love researching through books, but as adults we learn more from experience. For instance, college gives you the rough draft of the job, but you learn more from the experience of doing the job in that field. There are also some teachers claiming to have degrees in Metaphysics. There are a lot of schools online that offer degrees in Metaphysics I considered it at one time myself. However, I found out that there is no real degree in Metaphysics. There is no accreditation by the US Government for any kind of Metaphysics. If they say they are accredited it s a accredit mill which is not recognized by the United States Department of Education. 3

4 When selecting a spiritual teacher ask about their background. You want someone who has a least 20 years experience. Furthermore, when you find a teacher stick with them. It s okay to take different classes once in a while. However, I myself don t want a student learning from someone else that I may have fix what I would consider bad habits. Everyone teaches differently so keep that in mind. Here is my background, I been doing spiritual readings for 30 years. I actually still have clients that I have been reading for since then. I can show documents with dates from my computer from when I started teaching. Mediumship has always been part of my readings, only I never called it mediumship until I moved to Jacksonville, FL. My earliest memory of seeing spirit was 4 years old. I remember being frightened and had to sleep with the light on at night. I also remember as a little girl I would set up my toy tea set and have a tea party with an elderly looking woman that was in spirit. In July of 1994 I was doing a tarot card party at a woman's home in Cumberland Rhode Island. I was on my third reading. I was reading for a woman who looked to be in her forties. During readings I always saw spirits around the people. This time one of the male spirits came up to me and started talking. I was startled., I described the man to the woman and she identified him as her deceased father. He told me he was concerned that she was having stomach issues. She agreed, but said she figure it was women problems. He wanted her to have the problem examined by a doctor. She went to the doctor and later informed me that it was an infection that was treatable. I feel like that was my first mediumship reading. Through the years I have learned different ways to develop a better connection with spirit. I teach through my experience. I have had many spiritual experiences. At the age of 26 I lived in a haunted house. At one point, I was pulled up in the air and spun by spirit. I was so frightened it was the first time they could touch me. Soon after then I learned how to protect myself and cleanse my home from negativity. Ever since then I have been taking classes and learning from different teachers. I have had many spiritual experiences that I learned from. My goal is to teach you through my experiences. 4

My earliest memory of seeing spirit was since I was 4 years old. I have been studying Metaphysics since For most of my life I lived in a small state called Rhode Island. Rhode Island is 45 minutes from Salem, Massachusetts. I made many trips back and forth to Salem discovering the true histories and the wonderful growth of spiritualism.
