3 Students missing more than 13.5 days (5%) are subject to a change in graduation status. Approved and Acceptable Training The approved training diploma requires a minimum grade of 70% in all of the courses and 95% attendance. It exempts the graduate from writing the Transport Canada Technical AME license exams and gives the student a 19 month experience credit towards the AME M license experience requirement. The acceptable training diploma shows that the graduate has met a minimum grade of 60% in all of the program courses. The diploma can be used by the graduate to show Transport Canada and employers that they have met an acceptable minimum training standard for an AME M license. The graduate does not receive the 19 month experience credit and must write all of the TC technical exams. 10 Fire Procedures IN CASE OF FIRE ALARM The fire alarm at Stevenson is a bell sounding at short intervals. There are no other similar bells that will sound at Stevenson. When you hear the fire alarm bell, leave the building immediately through the nearest safe exit. Do not use the elevator! Once you are outside, locate your instructor and the rest of your class in the main parking lot to facilitate a head count. If You Find or Suspect a Fire 1) If you smell smoke, gas or see fire, remain calm, take the following action immediately and without question. Delay may be fatal. 2) Activate the fire alarm pull station to alert everyone in the building to evacuate and to summon the Fire Department. 3) Instruct anyone in the immediate area to evacuate the building and close the door of the room in which the fire is located. 4) When you hear the bell, leave the building immediately through the nearest safe exit. Leave the building, but do not use the elevators. 5) If the fire is small, you or someone nearby may attempt to extinguish it if familiar with auxiliary fire apparatus operation. Instructions are generally on the apparatus, i.e. fire extinguisher or fire hose. 6) Do not let anyone turn back or re-enter for any reason until given permission by the Fire Department or Officer in charge.
