13 Vista FM, Installation Manual 2 Planning the Project 2 Planning the Project 2.1 ACME Inc. We are going to install Vista FM with a Web solution for a fictional company called ACME Inc. The facility is a small, two-story office building, served by rooftop units. The first floor houses the Lobby, Accounts, Conference Room, and Marketing/Management. The second floor area houses Customer Support and Engineering. The system is managed using Vista. 14 2 Planning the Project Vista FM, Installation Manual 2.2 The Example Vista FM with a Web solution will be installed on the same computer as Vista Server and Vista Workstation. The computer is named VistaSRV1. TAC Vista Server BEMS Server TAC Vista FM Windows TAC Vista FM Web Microsoft IIS Internet Internet Explorer TAC Vista Db TAC Vista FM Db An energy usage log for the rooftop unit RTU4 serving the engineering area on the second floor is added to the Consumption module in Vista FM Windows. A link is also added from the Vista graphic displaying the rooftop unit RTU4 to the energy usage meter in Vista FM. 15 Vista FM, Installation Manual 3 Installing TAC Vista FM 3 Installing TAC Vista FM Vista FM is divided into two different groups of programs: Vista FM Windows and Vista FM Web. Vista FM Windows handles the Vista FM database. By using the Base module in Vista FM Windows, new objects can be added and deleted in the Vista FM database. The different Vista FM modules make it possible to see log values from Vista, keep track of maintenance, handle documents, and more. Vista FM Web makes it possible to connect to Vista FM database using the Internet. You can not change, add, or remove objects in the Vista FM database using Vista FM Web. Therefore, when you are installing a Web solution you have to install both the Vista FM Web and the Vista FM Windows. In the example, we will install a Web solution. If you do not want to install a Web solution, ignore Section 3.2, Installing TAC Vista FM Web, on page Installing TAC Vista FM Windows You can install Vista FM Windows on the same computer as Vista Server or on another computer in the same IP network. For more information, see Section 9.1, TAC Vista Server and TAC Vista FM on Different Computers, on page 78. In the example, Vista FM Windows is installed on the same computer as Vista Server. If you choose to install only a few Vista FM modules, note that the Base module and the Toolbar always have to be installed. 5 Click Next. 6 Click Finished. 3.2 Installing TAC Vista FM Web To allow communication over the Web, the computer running Vista FM Web has to act as a Web server. The Vista FM Web uses the Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) for this. For more information regarding the IIS, see Windows Help. Important The Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) has to be installed on the same computer as Vista FM Web. You can install Vista FM Web on the same computer as Vista Server or on another computer in the same IP network. For more information, see Chapter 9, TAC Vista FM in Networks, on page 77. 18 3 Installing TAC Vista FM Vista FM, Installation Manual 3.3 Installing BEMS Server BEMS (Building Energy Management System) Server handles the transferring of data from the Vista Server database to the Vista FM database. Note BEMS Server is not required if Vista FM will be used as standalone, that is, without any communication with TAC Vista. BEMS Server s main functions are: Select TAC Vista alarms for further handling by Vista FM. Collect energy consumptions trend logs from Vista. Reporting. BEMS Server runs as a service. The default behavior is that it runs as a scheduled task. Important Before you install BEMS Server, you will have to contact the customers IT department to get information on the user that will run the service. The user must have the right to run BEMS Server as a service and the right to print out on a network printer. BEMS Server has to be installed on the same computer that runs Vista Server to enable data transfer via the com interface.. To install BEMS Server 1 Start SetupBEMSServer.exe. 2 Click Next. 3 In the Select Destination Directory dialog box, select the destination directory. 20 3 Installing TAC Vista FM Vista FM, Installation Manual 3.4 Installing the TAC Vista FM Database The Vista FM database is not installed with the Vista FM components. It has to be downloaded from Schneider Electric s extranet. Vista FM can be used with two different types of databases: Microsoft Access Microsoft SQL Both types of databases have to be adapted to Vista FM, that is they have to contain the library vital for Vista FM. Databases adapted to Vista FM can be downloaded from Schneider Electric's extranet. In the example we will use a Microsoft Access database. If you want to use a SQL database together with Vista FM see Section 8, Using an SQL Database, on page 63 You can install the Vista FM database on the same computer as Vista FM or on another computer in the same IP network. For more information, see Chapter 9, TAC Vista FM in Networks, on page 77. In the example, the Vista FM database is installed on the same computer as Vista FM Downloading the Vista FM Access Database The database is downloaded from Schneider Electric s extranet. To download the Vista FM Access database 1 On Schneider Electric s extranet, download the zip-file Empty_TACVistaFM_Access.zip. 2 Unzip the Empty_TACVistaFM_Access.zip. 3 Save the TACVistaFM.mdb database file to the required location on the hard disk. In the example, C:\Fm32\WebSettings. Note Renaming the Vista FM Database If you are using Vista FM Web, it is recommended that the Vista FM database be located in the WebSettings folder in the Vista FM Web installation folder. If you have used the default installation folder, that will be: C:\Fm32\WebSettings. You can use the default database name (TACVistaFM). But it is recommended, however, that you change the name to something that reflects your unique project. To rename the Vista FM database In Windows Explorer, rename the Vista FM database. 23 Vista FM, Installation Manual 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM This chapter describes the configuring of Vista FM Windows and Vista FM Web. You always need to configure Vista FM Windows. If you do not want to install a Web solution, you can disregard the following sections: Section 4.2, Configuring IIS, on page 25 and Section 4.3, Creating and Configuring the Database.ini File, on page 33. Chapter 4.4, Connecting TAC Vista FM to an Access Database, on page 34. Section 4.5, Verifying the TAC Vista FM Web Configuration, on page 38. Section 4.6, Removing the Register Link, on page Configuring TAC Vista FM Windows You configure Vista FM Windows by selecting language and assigning the Vista FM database. Note Selecting Language To start Vista FM Windows, click FM32 in the start menu. Enter the user name demo and the password demo to log on to the Vista FM database. You can change the language for the Vista FM modules. Note, however, that not all languages are supported. The number of supported language depends on the number of translations. In the example, English Assigning the TAC Vista FM Database The Vista FM database needs to be assigned to Vista FM Windows. To assign the Vista FM database 1 In the Vista FM dialog box, click Settings. 2 In the Applications list, double-click the Base Module. 3 In the Edit Properties dialog box, in the Application Database list, browse to the database you want to use. 25 Vista FM, Installation Manual 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM Adding Roles to the HelpDesk Module The roles of contractor and requestor have to be added to the HelpDesk module. This is done in the Hd32.ini file. The Hd32.ini file is located in the HelpDesk32 folder in the installation folder. The default folder path is C:\Fm32\HelpDesk32. To add roles to the Helpdesk module 1 Open the Hd32.ini file with Notepad and add the following text: [Roles] Role1=1 Role2=3 4.2 Configuring IIS 2 Save and close the Hd32.ini file. To allow communication over the Web, the computer running Vista FM Web has to act as a Web server. Vista FM Web uses Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) for this. For more information regarding Microsoft IIS, see Windows Help. Important Microsoft IIS has to be installed on the same computer as Vista FM Web. Under the main virtual directory, we will add the virtual directory for the Vista FM database. You can assign a suitable name to the main directory. In the example, we will call the main virtual directory TACVistaFM. To create the main virtual directory 1 Right-click My Computer and click Manage. 2 Right-click the Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\Default Website. 3 Point to New and then click Virtual Directory. 4 In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next. 5 In the Alias box, enter the name of the Virtual Directory. In the example, TACVistaFM. 6 Click Next. 7 In the Directory box, browse to C:\Fm32\WebService. 8 Click OK. 9 Click Next. 26 (88) Schneider Electric Buildings AB, Mar 2010

Under this directory we will create the database virtual directory. The important thing is that the database virtual directory and the Vista FM database have to have the same name. In the example, the Vista FM database is named acme.mdb, thus the database virtual directory is named acme. To create the database virtual directory 1 Right-click the Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\Default Website\TACVistaFM. 2 Point to New and then click Virtual Directory. 3 In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next. 4 In the Alias box, enter the name of the Virtual Directory. In the example, acme. 5 Click Next. 6 In the Directory box, browse to C:\Fm32\WebService. 7 Click OK. 8 Click Next. 9 Select Read, Runs scripts (such as ASP), and Execute (such as ISAP applications or CGI). 10 Click Next. The Media virtual directory has to be located under the database virtual directory. To create the media virtual directory 1 Right-click the Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\Default Website\TACVistaFM\acme. 2 Point to New and then click Virtual Directory. 3 In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next. 4 In the Alias box, enter the name Media. 5 Click Next. 6 In the Directory box, browse to C:\Fm32\WebService\images. 7 Click OK. 8 Click Next. 9 Select Read, Runs scripts (such as ASP), and Execute (such as ISAP applications or CGI). 10 Click Next. 11 Click Finish Creating the Printouts Virtual Directory The Printouts virtual directory is used for printouts from Vista FM Web. The Printouts virtual directory has to be located under the database virtual directory. To create the Printouts virtual directory 1 Right-click the Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\Default Website\TACVistaFM\acme. 2 Point to New and then click Virtual Directory. 3 In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next. 4 In the Alias box, enter the name of the Printouts. 5 Click Next. 6 In the Directory box, browse to C:\Fm32\WebService\Printouts. 7 Click OK. 8 Click Next. 28 (88) Schneider Electric Buildings AB, Mar 2010

The administering virtual directory has to be located under the database virtual directory. To create the administering virtual directory 1 Right-click the Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\TACVista\acme. 2 Point to New and then click Virtual Directory. 3 In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next. 4 In the Alias box, enter the name Admin. 5 Click Next. 6 In the Directory box, browse to C:\Fm32\WebAdmin. 7 Click OK. 8 Click Next. 9 Select Read, Runs scripts (such as ASP), and Execute (such as ISAP applications or CGI). 10 Click Next. 11 Click Finish Creating the Media Virtual Directory for Administration The Media virtual directory is used to display images and graphics in the Admin module. The Media virtual directory has to be located under the administering virtual directory. To create the media virtual directory for administration 1 Right-click the Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\Default Web Site\TACVistaFM\acme\Admin. 2 Point to New and then click Virtual Directory. 3 In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next. 4 In the Alias box, enter the name Media. 5 Click Next. 6 In the Directory box, browse to C:\Fm32\WebService\images. The virtual directory structure will now look similar to this: Creating a Start Page for the Administering Virtual Directory The Admin module uses an.asp page instead of an.htm page as the start page. So the start page for the Admin module has to be altered to asp. To create a start page 1 In Computer Management, right-click the administering virtual directory. In the example, Services and Applications\Internet Information Services\Web Sites\TACVistaFM\acme\Admin. 2 Click Properties. 3 Click the Documents tab. 4 Make sure that Enable Default Document is selected. 5 Click Add to open the Default Document dialog box. 6 In the Default Document Name dialog box, enter admin.asp. 7 Click OK. 30 (88) Schneider Electric Buildings AB, Mar 2010

31 Vista FM, Installation Manual 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM 8 Click the up arrow to place admin.asp at the top of the list. 9 Click OK Adding a Custom HTTP Headers Some additional settings have to be made to the main virtual directory so that the Web browser will not use its own cache when the Vista FM pages are loaded.. The settings are inherited to all virtual directories below the main virtual directory. To add a custom HTTP headers 1 In Computer Management, right-click the main virtual directory. In the example, TACVistaFM. 2 Click Properties. 3 Click the HTTP Headers tab. 4 In the Custom HTTP Headers box, click Add. 5 In the Custom Header Name box, enter pragma. 6 In the Custom Header Value box, enter no-cache. 32 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM Vista FM, Installation Manual 7 Click OK. Repeat the procedure above to add the following customized HTTP headers: Custom Header Name: expires, Custom Header Value: -60. Custom Header Name: expiresabsolute, Custom Header Value: Now()-2. Custom Header Name: cache-control, Custom Header Value: private. Important If HTTPS (SSL) is used, do not add pragma:no-cache. 33 Vista FM, Installation Manual 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM 4.3 Creating and Configuring the Database.ini File In the folder Websettings, an.ini file with the same name as the Vista FM database and the database virtual directory has to be created and configured. The.ini file is a configuration file that defines language, among other things Creating the.ini File for the Vista FM Database The Vista FM database.ini file has to have the same name as the Vista FM database. In the example, we have a Vista FM database named acme.mdb, so we create a file named acme.ini. To create the.ini file 1 Open the C:\FM32\WebSettings folder. 2 Copy the Setup.ini file. 3 Rename the copy of the Setup.ini file to the same name as the Vista FM database. In the example, acme.ini. The international language code is used to to specify the language. Note, however, that not all languages are supported. The number of supported languages depends on the number of translations. In the example, we will change the language to English. To select the language 1 Open the database.ini file with a text editor. In the example, acme.ini. 2 In the.ini file, change to the required language code. In the example, Save and close the database.ini file. 4.4 Connecting TAC Vista FM to an Access Database Creating an ODBC Connection If you are using a web solution an ODBC connection has to be established and a.udl file has to be created. The ODBC connection is created in Windows Control Panel. To create an ODBC connection 1 Open Control Panel. 2 Double-click Administrative Tools. 3 Double-click Data Sources (ODBC). 34 (88) Schneider Electric Buildings AB, Mar 2010

35 Vista FM, Installation Manual 4 Configuring TAC Vista FM 4 Click the System DSN tab. 5 Click Add. 6 In the Create New Data Source dialog, select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb). 7 Click Finish. 8 In the Data Source Name box enter a name. In the example, C:\Fm32\WebSettings\acme.mdb Creating a.udl File 11 Click OK. 12 Click OK to close the ODBC Microsoft Acess Setup dialog box. 13 Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box. A.udl (Universal Data Link) file is used for the following reasons: If the Vista FM database is placed at a location other than the folder Websettings. In this case a.udl file is used to point out where the Vista FM database is located. If more than one user wants to connect to the Vista FM database at the same time. The.udl file must be located in the WebSettings folder in the installation folder and have the same name as the Vista FM database. The default folder path is C:\Fm32\WebSettings. Note Make sure that the trend logs from which you want to transfer log data to VistaFM are active with at least one logged value. The log interval has to be one hour or one day. 5.1 Configuring BEMS Server to Transfer Log Values As mentioned in Chapter 3.3, Installing BEMS Server, on page 18, BEMS Server handles the transfer of log data from the Vista Server database to the Vista FM database. BEMS Server has to be configured to specify when logs will be collected from the Vista Server database and to which Vista FM database the logs will be sent. To configure BEMS Server to transfer log values 1 Start BEMS Server. 2 Click the Scheduled tasks tab and select Move meter readings. 3 Click the Meter readings tab. 4 In the Database box, browse to the Vista FM database. However, this can only be done locally, that is, the Vista FM Windows has to be located at the same computer as Vista Server. The values are collected using DDE links. 6.1 Creating and Configuring the Ec32.ini File Creating the Ec32.ini File The Energy Calculation module has to be configured for Vista Server. The configuration is done in the Ec32.ini file. The Ec.32.ini file is created the first time the Energy Calculation module is opened. Using the TAC Vista graphic editor, you create execute buttons (.tgml) or command points (.ogc) to link to the Vista FM Object Information window. The link tool RyhExe is used to identify the Vista FM object paths. The following information can be viewed from Vista graphics: Object technical information Maintenance history Documents The Vista FM database has to be assigned to RyhExe and a shortcut to RyhExe has to be created before you can create the links to the Vista FM objects in the Vista graphics. First the Vista FM database has to be assigned to RyhExe. This is done in the RyhExe.ini file. The RyhExe.ini file is located in the Com_dll folder in the installation folder. The default folder path is C:\Fm32\Com_dll. To assign the Vista FM database 1 Open the RyhExe.ini file with a text editor. 2 In the Act_dbase attribute, enter the path to the Vista Fm database. The Vista FM SQL database is downloaded from Schneider Electric's extranet. You can install the Vista FM database on the same computer as Vista FM or on another computer in the same IP network. To be able to manage the SQL database the following programs has to be installed: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Both can be downloaded from Microsoft at no cost. Note You can also use a preinstalled Microsoft SQL server and Management Studio Express. In this case you have to contact the SQL administrator to get username and password to connect to the SQL server. 8.1 SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (SQL Server Express) is a data management product that delivers data protection, and performance for embedded application clients, light Web applications, and local data stores. You must have administrative rights on the computer to install SQL Server Express. If you are installing the SQL Server for the first time you will be asked to select authentication mode.
