1 Implement a Staffing Analysis System which will result in cost neutral staffing adjustments that optimize staffing levels so that patrons will receive high quality, consistent service. Practical Application Used with all library position vacancies to evaluate best transitions to the new staffing model while maintaining effective operational staffing levels. Used to reallocate staff across clusters and the System for best balances of staffing groups. Used to develop the optimum staffing for the new Newcastle Library based on business volumes and trends. Feedback Increased confidence among library leadership in the accuracy and effectiveness of the tool in making staffing decisions. Noteworthy Improvements 12 month rolling business volumes used rather than rapidly outdated prior year s volumes. Restocks rather than circulation used for Library Page business volumes, more accurate reflecting their workloads. Pilot model staffing groupsand business volumes included in addition to existing staffing model. Comparisons by library size in addition to cluster and system comparisons.
