The programs ensure that the community's most vulnerable members have the opportunity to return to self sufficiency and a place they can call "home". To access our services, you will first need to contact one of Shelter Network's referral agencies. Please speak to a social worker at one of the referral agencies, and ask about Shelter Network's programs. They can arrange a referral at the appropriate program. The goal is to attract and retain public school teachers and credentialed staff who are needed to provide equality education for San José youth. To assist in achieving this goal, the THP offers deferred-payment loan of $35,000 or$50,000 depending on applicants income. City of San Jose Welcome HOME Description: Down payment assistance program offers a loan up to $25,000 at 3% simple interest for first-time homebuyers. City of Campbell Mortgage Credit Certificate Program (MCC) Description: The Mortgage Credit Certificate Program (MCC) provides financial assistance in the form of a tax credit to first-time homebuyers for the purchase of single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. A first-time homebuyer is defined as a person who has not owned a principal residence within the last three years in Santa Clara County. City of Cupertino West Valley Community Services Below Market rate Rental Program (BMR) Vista Drive Cupertino, CA Phone: wvcs@wvcommunityservices.org Website: Description: Offers affordable rental units to very low and low-income households and ownership units affordable to median and moderate-income households. The City of Cupertino contracts with West Valley Community Services (WVCS) to screen and place qualified households in most of the city's BMR units. BMR ownership housing and BMR rental housing are available. If interested, contact the Santa Clara County Housing Authority City of Mountain View Subsidized Rental Housing Description: There are ten housing complexes in the City of Mountain View that have been subsidized by the City or have received financial assistance from Federal subsidy programs in exchange for providing affordable housing. Some of these apartments also participate in the Section 8 rental subsidy program and accept tenants with Section 8 rental vouchers or certificates. Description: The City of Morgan Hill s Below Market Rate (BMR) Purchase program assists low to moderate income first-time homebuyers purchase their first home at below market rate prices. City of Morgan Hill Down Payment Assistance Program Description: The City of Morgan Hill s Down Payment Assistance Program (DAP) assists first-time homebuyers who meet the income qualifications to buy their first home within the City by offering payment assistance of up to $50,000 ($75,000 within downtown boundary).
