SUNDAY ONLY NON-REGULAR (ADDITIONAL) CLASSES Involving Multiple Dog Entries As the judge's decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes. BRACE CLASS - Two dogs of the same Breed or Variety of Breed with one or more common owner and both dogs must be entered in another class. The above classification is provided for all breeds (and varieties). Additional divisions, i.e. (age, color or weight) are in the breed list and must be indicated on the entry. 5 DULUTH KENNEL CLUB PRESENTS VETERANS CELEBRATION THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2014 NO NEUTERED DOGS OR SPAYED BITCHES MAY COMPETE The Veteran Classes will be judged prior to Best of Breed in which the winners of the Veteran classes will be eligible. Best Veteran in Breed will be judged following Best of Breed. If a Veteran wins Best of Breed, they are automatically Best of Breed Veteran. All Best of Breed Veteran winners will then compete in Veteran Group competition. The seven winners of the Veteran Groups will then compete for Best Veteran in Show. DULUTH KENNEL CLUB PRESENTS PUPPY SPECTACULAR FRIDAY, JULY 11, 2014 This AKC approved special event allows the puppy class winners (6-9 month & 9-12 month only) to be judged immediately following Best of Breed to determine Best Puppy. If the puppy wins Best of Breed or Best of Winners it is automatically Best Puppy in Breed. Best Puppy winners will compete in their respective Puppy Groups for First through Fourth placements. The seven winners of the Puppy Groups will then compete for Best Puppy in Show. DULUTH KENNEL CLUB PRESENTS BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR ATTRACTION SATURDAY, JULY 12, 2014 This AKC approved special event allows the Bred-By-Exhibitor class winners to be judged immediately following Best of Breed to determine Best Bred-By-Exhibitor. If a Best Bred-By-Exhibitor entrant wins Best of Breed or Best of Winners, it is automatically Best Bred- By-Exhibitor. Best Bred-By-Exhibitor winners will compete in their respective Bred-By-Exhibitor Groups for First through Fourth placements. The seven winners of the Bred-By-Exhibitor Groups will then compete for Best Bred-By-Exhibitor in Show. DULUTH KENNEL CLUB PRESENTS BRACE COMPETITION SUNDAY, JULY 13, 2014 Best Brace in Show will be judged just before regular BIS. This event allows a Brace to be judged immediately after regular Best of Breed in which a Best Brace will be awarded. (Both dogs must be entered in another class). All Best Brace Breed winners will then compete in their respective Brace Groups. The seven Brace Group winners will then compete for Best Brace in Show. 5

6 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 9 and under 12 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 12 and under 15 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. NOVICE SENIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 15 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN JUNIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 9 and under 12 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice Class. OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 12 and under 15 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice Class. OPEN SENIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 15 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice Class. MASTER CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 9 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show and who have won ten (10) first place wins in an Open Class, with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed, all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. 11 ATTENTION EXHIBITORS The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 9, Earlier entrance may be available at the discretion of the Show Committee. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately after Best in Show judging on Sunday, July 13, The Show Committee reserves the right to move, arrange or assign grooming set ups. Exercise pens are to be taken down during show hours. Exhibitors will be required to condense set up areas and stack crates. Exhibitors are asked to limit the size of their exercise pens. AKC regulations stipulate no puppies under 6 months of age may be present on the show grounds. Duluth Kennel Club reserves the right to break windows of any vehicle containing dogs who appear to be suffering from the heat. Crates must be be stacked. No roping off or saving of space. There will be NO CLEAN UP COMMITTEE at this show. Exhibitors will be responsible for their dogs at all times. Because of violations last year no dogs will be allowed on the grassy areas by the Irvin Ore Boat or other tourist areas marked NO DOGS. Additional admission tickets are $5.00/adults, $3.00/children, under 3/free, $15.00/family, ONE free admisson per entry. OUTDOOR PRIVATE X-PENS will be allowed in designated areas in the parking lot area only. Plastic MUST be placed under all xpens on blacktop or concrete. All signage must be followed. You must clean up after your own dog at all times. The show site will be locked at 10:00 PM and opened at 6:00 AM. This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for these events. At the sole discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on a ramp: Boykin Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Whippets, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chinese Shar- Pei, Chow Chows, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds & Polish Lowland Sheepdogs. Ramps are expected to be used for Basset Hounds and Bulldogs. Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. (In an emergency situation, an exhibitor does have the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund) NEW EXHIBITOR BRIEFING on Saturday. Check Judging Program for time & location. A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). An AKC Recording Fee of $3.50 1st Entry & $3.00 additional entry of same dog will be required for each entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 3) These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS. There will be no refund for duplicate entries. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs allowed in rings during judging only. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendents will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - None will be mailed. All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or misplaced checks will not be replaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Superintendent is not able to cash checks. 11

12 RETURNED CHECKS/DECLINED CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guaranteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Superintendent will add a fee for completing the transaction and/or reprocessing the entries. Repeated occurrences from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent. The show giving Club, the Show Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. 20 DULUTH KENNEL CLUB GROOMING INFORMATION & RESERVED GROOMING FORM There will be indoor grooming at the DECC in the North and South Pioneer Halls. Reserved Grooming: All reserved grooming spaces will be assigned in the order the reservation is received. Request to be set up next to specific exhibitors, large groups or in specific areas cannot be honored. The club reserves the right to consider safety and electrical power needs when making assignments. Reservations will be accepted between May 1st and June 29th, 2014 or until filled. Receipt of reservation will be acknowledged and assignments will be sent via only. If the reserved area is full you will be notified via to pick up your check at the show All reservations must be in writing on this form. No telephone, or other request will be honored. FREE or OPEN Grooming: will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. NO roping off or saving space. The Show Committee reserves the right to consolidate the grooming areas. All crates must be stacked, all areas kept clean. X pens may not be left up during show hours in any of the grooming areas Private x-pens in the designated areas only outdoors. All x-pens on pavement will have plastic under them.
