9 SECURE MOBILE VOICE CONNECTION SOLUTION MANUFACTURER OF INFORMATION SECURITY PRODUCTS The challenge One of our customers is a provider of reliable Information Security systems that allow secure and reliable electronic communication over public lines and connections. They are one of the world market leaders in ISDN encryption. They needed to expand the scope of their solutions by offering a set of products to secure mobile voice applications, including mobile-to-mobile and mobile-to-company gateway voice connection. The challenge was to manage the risks inherent to this project and produce a highly reliable software product within the very short time-to-market deadlines. The solution In order to ensure these goals could be reached, our customer decided to leverage our embedded development R&D acceleration services and critical technology resources. We teamed up to optimize the efforts: the complete product development was transferred to our teams, while our customer provided the expertise in their core domain of security. ComTrade s responsibility covered the entire project life-cycle, from concept, feasibility study and prototype development, through design, specification, implementation, testing, and right up to product support. We met our client s expectations, as far as quick project set-up and start. Project planning and management activities largely leveraged our built-in quality processes, and enabled the customer to benefit from the levels of visibility and control up to the depth the client felt comfortable. Early on we alleviated the risks with the appropriate project plan and set delivery priorities accordingly.

10 WIRELESS IP BLUETOOTH PHONE BASED ON OPEN SOURCE The challenge ComTrade experts have been involved in the development of a number of Bluetooth and VoIP (SIP and H.323) solutions and designs. For various applications, Bluetooth and WLAN can be seen as a quick and cheap alternative to G3 technologies. We see a great potential for, but an acute shortage of expertise on the market in these technologies at present. ComTrade has developed software modules ready to be used in the solutions of our customers called BluePhone.

11 The solution BluePhone is a VoIP telephone set consisting of a Bluetooth headset, a Bluetooth-enabled PDA as a user interface, and a Bluetooth VoIP gateway. The PDA is used to manipulate calls and to establish conversation with correspondent. BluePhone is based on open source solutions. Software modules for Bluetooth and for VoIP (SPI) are designed in such a way as to allow their reuse in other designs and to allow them to be easily adapted to any other software/ hardware architecture.
