23 80% of students receive some form of financial assistance. Financial Aid Here s a quick guide to making sense of financial aid. Be sure to pick up your in-depth guide to financial aid at Northwest from the Financial Aid Office after you apply for admission or visit northwestms.edu/financialaid. How do I get financial aid? You must FIRST fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at gov to receive any type of aid. What next? There are four different ways you can receive funds to help pay for your education. They are listed in the right column, so find which one best meets your needs and qualifications! Scholarships Scholarships are handled through their departments, so you should contact the department directly for try-out information. Fill out scholarship applications on the financial aid website before April 1. Work-Study By filling out the FAFSA, you will have applied for Federal Work-Study. If eligible, Northwest will help you find a job on campus to help cover your cost of attendance. Grants By filling out the FAFSA, you have already applied for Federal Pell Grant. Then go to to fill out the application for the two grants available to Mississippians. Loans Students who still need assistance covering their cost of attendance while in school can apply for Federal Direct Loans that they must pay back after graduation. 23

25 Ranger Athletics Northwest is known state-wide for its tradition of excellence in intercollegiate sports. Since 2000, a total of 280 studentathletes have gone on to sign at four-year colleges/universities. Eighty of those have inked at major Division I schools. 27 Apply Now! Although Northwest has an "open door" admissions policy, there are procedures all students must follow in order to receive a Certificate of Admission.
