3 Challenge The client is a Canadian based advertising company. The key focus of the company is to provide Media Intelligence Solutions. This advertising company was engaged by a Law Firm that needed to develop a multi-domain presentation website. This Law Firm has unparalleled expertise in the following legal services: personal injury, immigration, commercial litigation, labour and employment law. They needed one website for each service. All the sites needed to be managed from a single administrative interface. The web site also needed to contain information about the entire organization and branches, and the FAQ section for specific areas of law. Once the idea for the Law Firm was taken on, the client looked for a web development and e-commerce savvy partner, which also understands the specifics of the target audience. 4 Solution The Law firm website was implemented by AltexSoft in the accordance with the customer s requirements. The AltexSoft project team received the full requirements document, discussed the customer s needs and then suggested solutions/technologies. 6 Project Workflow AltexSoft defined four detailed steps of the client's project and set up calls at every milestone to keep the client fully involved throughout the project. The project started with in-depth planning, involving AltexSoft s researching domain trends and the specific needs and goals of the client. Next came the design visualization phase. The website's look & feel was laid out based on the information gathered during the planning phase. Once the design mockups were approved, we moved on to the third phase. The web development phase is where the front and back end coding took place. The website s construction, based upon the selected design mock ups, was completed and the site features were implemented. The fourth phase was the Testing and Deployment phase. To create the new website, AltexSoft proposed to use the Drupal platform to guarantee high availability, cost optimization, and unlimited scalability. 7 Approach The project was mostly managed by the project lead. Customer communication was conducted via s, Skype chats, and voice conversations. The website implementation was iterative with bi-weekly iterations (sprints). The customer received a new version every 2 weeks for review and feedback. The most risky items were implemented in the initial stages of the project. Using the iterative development process allowed the project team to receive feedback (bugs and change requests) from the customer quickly and implement most of the change requests within the scope of the project.
