3 BioComposite TM Implant Technology BioComposite implant material composed of ß-TCP/PLDLA or PLLA offers the same benefits of the bioabsorbable material, with the addition of 15% Beta tricalcium phosphate. Studies suggest that early bone formation can be connected to the favorable osteoconductive and bioresorbable properties within ß-TCP. BioComposite choices can be found in the Tenodesis Screw System and SutureTak anchor line. Intraosseous Ligament and Tendon Fixation Arthrex is a leader in intraosseous soft tissue fixation with years of success in the knee and shoulder markets. The patented Bio-Tenodesis TM Screw System is a breakthrough technology that enables the surgeon to tension and attach tendon or tendon graft directly to bone inside a predrilled socket. Suture Anchors Suture anchors provide the highest attachment strength possible, making technically demanding procedures simpler, safer, and more reproducible. The bioabsorbable anchors are made of PLDLA (poly(l-lactide-co-d, L-lactide)), PLLA ((poly)l-lactide) or BioComposite (PLDLA/Beta tricalcium phosphate). They maintain strength during the critical 12-week soft tissue healing phase and then undergo resorption. All anchors are preloaded with FiberWire suture, which is stronger than standard polyester or absorbable sutures. The Arthrex anchor line includes the new knotless 2.5 mm PushLock Anchor, and Achilles SutureBridge TM Convenience Pack. FiberWire FiberWire, a suture made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and polyester, braided over a UHMWPE core, has made a significant improvement in foot and ankle surgery. FiberWire is stronger than standard polyester suture in straight pull and knot strength testing. FiberWire s high strength characteristics, along with significantly increased abrasion-resistance, give the surgeon confidence during knot tying and early motion. The TightRope Syndesmosis Repair Kit is a proven alternative to metal screw fixation, which often requires a second surgery to remove. The new Mini TightRope, the next evolution of this technology, is revolutionizing bunion surgery. Surgeon Education The most important aspect to the Arthrex difference is the emphasis we place on surgeon education. We have dedicated six convenient state-of-the-art wet lab facilities in the United States exclusively for surgeon education. In addition to scheduled Saturday courses, we are able to accommodate the individual needs of surgeons for weekday labs in the Naples facility or labs in Manhattan, Tracy and Los Angeles, California; Vail, Colorado; and Scottsdale, Arizona. All labs are equipped with the latest equipment and technical assistance to provide visiting surgeons with the best educational experience possible. The Arthrex Difference

6 Ankle Fracture Management System Ankle fractures are frequently complicated by variables out of the surgeon s control. The amount of comminution, degree of osteoporosis, location of the fracture, and size of the patient can all lead to challenging obstacles. The Ankle Fracture Management System was developed to be the most comprehensive set available for the treatment of these common injuries. Improved basic small fragment implants and instrumentation, anatomic plates, and locking screw technology, allow for confident and effective treatment of the majority of fracture patterns. This set was designed to give the surgeon the armamentarium to more effectively address any patient/injury pattern encountered. Significant time and research were invested to develop anatomic plates, with specific emphasis placed on determining the appropriate angle of the locked screws. This allows for easier and faster implantation, while negating the need for more expensive variable-angle locking plates and screws. Included in the set are a variety of fracture specific plates, engineered to address even the most difficult fracture patterns. These consist of Third Tubular Locking Plates, 3.5 mm Reconstruction Plates, Locking Medial Hook Plates, Locking Lateral Hook Plates, and Complex Fibular Fracture Plates. All plates designed for use on the fibula have modifications that allow for easier use of either the TightRope or syndesmotic screws for stabilization of associated ligamentous injuries. 11 Mini TightRope FT The Mini TightRope FT, now available in metal, was developed to offer surgeons a new technique for the correction of the intermetatarsal angle (IMA) for hallux valgus. As is with the standard Mini TightRope placed distally, the Mini TightRope FT can support correction of the IMA if used proximally along the 1st metatarsal. The Mini TightRope FT uses a fully-threaded Corkscrew FT, FiberWire and a stainless steel Cup Button. The proximally placed anchor/suture button construct will support reduction of the intermetatarsal angle, while allowing soft tissue remodeling and stabilization. The Mini TightRope FT has other applications such as Lisfranc ligament repair and syndesmotic trauma fixation of the dorsal distal radioulnar ligament (DRUL) disruptions. Advantages: Minimally invasive dorsal medial single incision Anchor construct stabilizes the metatarsal cuneiform joint and acts as a backstop to help prevent recurrence of the deformity IM angle correction with or without an osteotomy. 12 Achilles SutureBridge and SpeedBridge Insertional calcific Achilles tendinosis is a painful and frequently disabling condition. While most patients with insertional Achilles tendinosis can be managed nonoperatively, those patients who do not respond to conservative treatment may require decompression and debridement of the diseased tendon. The literature has described numerous operative approaches for reattachment of the Achilles tendon and for an associated tendon transfer of the flexor hallucis longus (FHL) for augmen-tation. While Arthrex provides means of fixation for both, the reattachment of the tendon is the focus of this technique. The SutureBridge is a novel concept in Achilles reattachment, following debridement. While standard anchor fixation of the tendon creates only a single point of compression directly over the anchor, the SutureBridge enables an hourglass pattern of FiberWire suture to be laid over the distal end of the tendon. This four-anchor construct enables a greater area of compression for the Achilles tendon on the calcaneus, improving stability and possibly allowing for earlier return to normal activities. Achilles SutureBridge Convenience Pack (AR-8927BNF-CP) includes: Bio-Corkscrew FT, 4.5 mm x 15 mm, w/two #1 FiberWire and Tapered Needles, qty. 2 Bio-PushLock, 3.5 mm x 14 mm, qty. 2 Punch/Tap for 4.5 mm Bio-Corkscrew FT Drill Guide for 3.5 mm Bio-PushLock Drill for 3.5 mm Bio-PushLock Intraosseous Fixation Ligament & Tendon Achilles SpeedBridge Convenience Pack (AR-8928BC-CP) includes: BioComposite SwiveLock Screw, qty. 2, 4.75 x 15 mm FiberTape Needle Assembly, blue, qty. 1* FiberTape Needle Assembly, white/black, qty. 1* Drill, 3.5 mm Drill Guide Punch/Tap for 4.75 mm SwiveLock Optional Accessories: Bio-Corkscrew FT Punch, reusable Punch/Tap for Bio-Corkscrew FT PushLock Punch, 3.5 mm Multimedia: SutureBridge Achilles Repair by Ned Amendola, M.D. Achilles SutureBridge Surgical Technique Achilles SpeedBridge Surgical Technique *use with BioComposite SwiveLock Screw Bio-Corkscrew FT AR-1927PB AR-1927CTB AR-1926P DVD-1097 LT0460 LT0463 Consider These Surgical Procedures: Haglund s Retrocalcaneal Exostosis Chronic Achilles Tendinosis Peak Load Comparison* 500 Achilles SutureBridge Achilles SpeedBridge 400 Load (N) Bio-PushLock SutureBridge *data on file Two-Anchor 7

13 PARS Achilles Jig Repair System Percutaneous Achilles Repair System for Acute Midsubstance Achilles Ruptures Achilles tendon ruptures are common in the elite and recreational athlete and most often occur in the noninsertional region of the tendon complex. Most surgeons will elect to treat these injuries surgically, to lessen the risk for rerupture, while providing the opportunity for a quicker recovery and convenient rehabilitation. Historically, open techniques have been utilized for repair of the rupture but can be complicated by wound-healing issues and infection. This percutaneous and minimally invasive technique minimizes this concern. The PARS provides the opportunity for consistently reliable capture of the proximal and distal aspects of the Achilles tendon and utilizes color-coded FiberWire suture. The anatomically contoured guide is nondisposable, while the suture and passing needles come packaged in one convenient kit. The system provides the option of transverse or locking sutures, or both. The locking option allows the surgeon to incorporate a locked FiberWire suture on both ends of the ruptured tendon. This results in a stronger repair than just passing transverse sutures across the tendon like other minimally invasive devices on the market. The colored sutures offer a more organized approach to identifying and securing matched pairs. The healed tendon achieves a more natural contour, unlike the typical hypertrophic tendon resulting from open repair. This minimally invasive technique is ideal for the middleaged individual, where there may be a heightened concern for wound-healing issues. Advantages: Minimal incision reduces risk of wound complications Provides the ability to create a locking stitch Specialized suture kits eight pieces of different colored FiberWire Easy suture management Reusable device with numbered, easy to follow steps Pars Achilles Jig Set (AR-8860S) includes: PARS Achilles Jig AR -8860J Cannulated Driver Handle with AO Connection AR AOC PARS Achilles Jig Suture Kit (AR-8860DS) includes: Two #2 FiberWire, (white), 38 Two #2 FiberWire, (blue), 38 Two #2 TigerWire, (white/black), 38 Two #2 FiberWire, with loops, (blue), 40 Two 1.6 mm straight needles with Nitinol loops PARS Achilles Jig System Technique LT0464 PARS Locking Stitch Intraosseous Fixation Ligament & Tendon PARS Achilles Jig 8

14 Tenodesis Screw System Now available in BioComposite, the Tenodesis Screw System provides the most technologically advanced interference fixation, while eliminating transosseous tunnels in tendon repairs and ligament reconstruction. BioComposite implant material composed of ß-TCP and PLLA offers the same benefits of the bioabsorbable material, with the addition of 15% Beta tricalcium phosphate.* Studies suggest that early bone formation can be connected to the favorable osteoconductive and bioresorbable properties within ß-TCP. With a comprehensive product line including BioComposite, PLLA, PEEK and titanium, the system provides superior and immediate fixation for foot and ankle indications such as flatfoot reconstruction (FDL), chronic Achilles reconstruction (FHL), and lateral ankle reconstruction. While the nose of the tendon passers is thin for easy navigation through a tunnel, the back end opens up to accept the tendon. Once the tendon is introduced, the nylon mesh constricts around it and increases its hold under tension, much like a finger trap.
