On the Become a Student page, select the category that applies to you new student, continuing/returning, etc. 4. Follow the steps listed. Returning CLC student Search for Spring term classes and register using your student portal at myclc.clcillinois.edu. 5 Find courses: Plus career degree programs and certificates Quick path to higher earnings When your goal is to enter the workforce right after CLC, choose one of our career preparation programs. These two-year degrees and shorter career certificates give you higher earning potential in less time than a bachelor s degree program. Associate in Applied Science degree programs were created to provide specific skills and knowledge for immediate employment after graduation. Credits from many programs, however, can be applied to transfer programs at four-year schools. More information is at Financial aid Review the financial aid process at Apply early at (CLC s school code is ) Financial aid helps cover tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, personal expenses and transportation. Types of aid include federal and state aid, including grants and loans; CLC Foundation scholarships (clcillinois.academicworks.com); and military/veterans benefits. If you are seeking financial aid, you must set up a deferred installment payment plan, which only goes into effect if you do not receive financial aid or your aid does not cover your entire bill. Explore these services at An especially important service to use as you begin at CLC: Advisement. If you graduated from high school in the last two years, you are required to attend a new student orientation where you will see an advisor. If you are not a recent high school graduate, academic advisement is still a very valuable resource. Your advisor will help you develop an academic plan, clarify your educational and career goals, refer you for career planning services and more. Make an appointment to see an advisor by calling (847) Convenient course scheduling options: Attend classes days, evenings or weekends, online; or at our Grayslake, Lakeshore (Waukegan) or Southlake (Vernon Hills) campuses. Child care: Concentrate on your studies, knowing your child will learn and play in modern secure surroundings at our Children s Learning Centers on the Grayslake and Lakeshore campuses. Internships and cooperative education: Earn 1-4 credits for on-the-job learning and gain resume-building experience. Honors options: CLC offers three special options for high-performing students the Honors Program, Honors Scholars and Phi Theta Kappa.
