2 Action Plan of 2 nd Health Region for telemedicine 2 nd HR designed and currently implements a consolidated telemedicine network aiming to address the capacity of existing Health Units of the National Health System such as: Regional Hospitals, Health Centers and other smaller regional health units. This network has an innovative design and could be easily used as the central infrastructure of Single National Telemedicine Network for the entire country. This is why the project is called: National Telemedicine Network (EDIT) 2 nd Health Region.

4 Supporting National Healthcare System (ESY) Telemedicine network has been designed to support simultaneously and with the same infrastructure many different operational needs by providing substantial strengthening of existing structures and functions of ESY

5 Telemedicine services and coverage from EDIT Telemedicine Services Description of Services Included in EDIT 1 Medical Teleconsultation Medical Teleconsultation refers to counseling diagnosis remotely regardless of geographical constraints. During the process transmitted medical data from the patient s site are used in order for the expert physician to provide an experts opinion to the patient s doctor from a remote area(i.e. supporting hospital). 2 Remote management of medical devices 3 Home-care, telemetry, Tele-monitoring Remote management and handling of medical devices, up to remote control of surgical tools Continuous evaluation and monitoring patient s environment using telecare devices associated with an ARC YES NO NO EDIT can be interconnected with existing tele-care or home care systems 4 E-learning Training of medical, nursing and administrative staff in remote health units and in real time using videoconferencing infrastructure 5 Emergency Tele-medicine Similar to the remote diagnostic service but is taking place during urgent events. It can significantly assist to the good provision of medical consultation especially in areas where there is no qualified personnel. YES YES 6 Telepsychitary Telepsychiatry, which can also be known as e-psychiatry or telemental health. Telepsychiatry delivers an Online Psychiatrist through Telemedicine in the field of Psychiatry via Video Conferencing for Health Care Facilities, Necessary is a very high resolution of the sound and image quality.
