2 Families Supporting Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies Community-based Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Agencies work within 8 regions, serving all 72 counties and 11 tribes. Services: Connect parents with consumer education to make informed choices about selecting child care Provide guidance to parents on child development, child abuse and neglect prevention, health and wellness and early care and education Support professionals who care for and educate children Deliver training and professional development to the Early Care and Education field Design, implement, and evaluate innovative child care quality improvement initiatives Collect, analyze, and share data Together Association Supporting Families Together Association is a statewide organization committed to improving the lives of children and families in all 72 counties and 11 Tribes. Our association supports services to children and families, early childhood professionals and communities. At the heart of our work is our commitment to prevent child abuse and neglect and promote high quality early childhood experiences. We do this in close collaboration with our regional and local partners at Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies and Family Resource Centers who make up our association s membership. While Supporting Families Together Association is a statewide organization, we prioritize support to our regional and local partners to promote: strong families; healthy children; high quality early care and education; and responsive systems. Family Resource Centers & Networks Although each Family Resource Center is unique, they all focus on family strengths and providing positive parenting tools. Services: Develop and deliver family support programs from prevention to intervention Deliver evidence-informed parenting education Focus on collaboration and community development Collect, analyze, and report data related to reducing child abuse and neglect

Mission The Parenting Place is for all who care for children. Our programs educate strengthen and support parents and caregivers by creating a greater understanding of the impact they have on the lives of children in their care. Through increased education and parental growth, children will have a positive supportive and loving start in life. Established in The Parenting Place was the first agency in the state to blend Parent Education and Support programming with Child Care Resource and Referral programming. This model has served our community well by providing a one-stop agency for parents and child care providers to access many services often found in separate agencies in other communities. Our primary focus has always been child abuse and neglect prevention. Our vision is to nurture Manitowoc County families by assisting them to establish safe and supportive environments which prepare children for healthy responsible adult lives. Our lead agency is Lakeshore Community Action Program (CAP). Lakeshore CAP s mission is to enable and empower all persons, parents and families through voluntary prevention education and support, intervention and treatment programs. Emphasis is placed on strong service coordination, collaboration and comprehensive case management. Home visitation staff is certified in Parents as Teachers: Born to Learn curriculum. The Teen Parent Educator is also certified in Parent As Teachers: Born to Learn and trained in the Nurturing Program. The class based Parent Educator is trained in the Nurturing Program. Also have staff trained in SEFEL. The agency has a focus on at-risk families with programming including parenting classes for parents dealing with mental illness and another class for parents dealing with substance abuse issues. The agency is a key player in the Early Childhood Initiative in Manitowoc County. The initiative is currently working to build a more collaborative system of support for families by bringing key players to the table and having the community speak the same language when it comes to supporting families with young children.
