Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov After completing your FAFSA online, print the FAFSA confirmation page for your records. Complete the Federal Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling Go to studentloans.gov and click on Entrance and Exit Counseling. Under Entrance Counseling, click Go Select Stafford Loan Tutorial and Quiz At the end, be sure to choose Hondros College as your school. School Code - 040743 4. Complete the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) Go to studentloans.gov Review the What you Need and What to Expect sections of the website. Select Complete New MPN for Student Loans In step 3 of the MPN, be sure to select Hondros College (040743) You will receive an e-mail notification of your aid eligibility. 5. You will receive an e-mail notification of your aid eligibility. Standardized Entrance Exam This information is for the PN and ADN Programs PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE STANDARDIZED ENTRANCE EXAM Go to : www.hesiinet.com or http://evolve.elsevier.com /exam Click on Students Take My Exam. Click on I do not have an Evolve Username. On the next two pages click the Register link. Create a password, Verify it, and click Continue. Fill out a questionnaire (you only need to fill out the areas with a red asterisk*) o For the Occupational Information: Enter the Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Program Type or Registered Nurse Program. o Graduation Date should be entered as one year after your anticipated start for the PN program, and 1.5 years after your start date for the ADN program (if you are already an LPN). Write down your username and password and bring it with you to the exam. Your username and password are case sensitive. Exit the site. PROCEDURE Arrive at Hondros College or the designated testing facility 15 minutes before your scheduled test time. Remember to bring your username and password. Bring a valid photo ID. A calculator will be available on your computer screen for the math portion of the test. Scrap paper will be provided for you. TEST TAKING TIPS Answer the questions as you go. You will not be able to go back or change an answer. Stick with your first answer! You will be taking four sections (Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension and Math) in the order you choose. You will have three hours to take the exam, so plan for the time you will need for each section. If you need a break, remember to click on pause. This will not affect your time. This is a fun way to learn medical terminology basics that will help you with your test. Select Vocabulary These exercises will strengthen your vocabulary skills. 4. Visit: www.coolmath.com On this website you can do exercises with fractions etc. to build your skills. 5. Visit: www.dictionary.com This website will provide you with the opportunity to look up the synonyms and antonyms of the words in the vocabulary section of the study guide. Not all of the words in the vocabulary section of the study guide will be on the exam but words similar to them may be, so looking up the synonyms and antonyms of the words can be very helpful. 6. Visit: www.evolve.elsevier.com This website has quick reference guides available to you that could prove to be useful. It is important that all students take this exam seriously, as there may be only one chance to take and pass the exam. You will need 2-7 days to study. Most individuals have been exposed to this information in the past, but refreshing your skills is pertinent to your success. There is a calculator on the computer for math, but it will not help you with fractions, ratios and the metric system. The preparation time is worth the reward!
