IB Asia Pacific The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation registered in Switzerland, motivated by its mission, focused on the student. We cover our operating and development costs by charging fees for our services. Any surplus we make in providing these services is reinvested back into the organization in pursuit of our mission. Regional fees: School Services Effective from 1 January 2016 unless otherwise stated Explanatory note to publication of 2016 Regional School Services fees As you are aware, the IB has undertaken considerable restructuring over the past years as part of the strategic plan to evolve and improve our service and support to schools and educators. An integral part of this restructuring has been the creation of three global centres that have been opened in locations around the world and this, in turn, has transformed the financial base of the IB. After consultation with Heads Council, Regional Councils and approval from the Board, it has become clear that a new currency structure for fees is required in order to remove currency anomalies across the globe and to address major currency differences. The result is that all invoices from the IB will be in the same new currency for all services. As from June 2014 all invoices for the Asia Pacific region have been issued in Singapore Dollars (SGD). This decision has been taken in acknowledgment of the Singapore Dollar increasingly being recognised by international organisations as a regional currency.
